Not me because I believe that my compatriots want the best for my country and should therefore decide independently for themselves.

Without Western aid, the Soviet Union would lose. And if Germany didn't have a western and southern front with the Western Allies, then the Soviet Union couldn't win either. Russia had already lost to Germany in World War I and collapsed, so the Soviet Union was created (the Soviet Union, by the way, consisted not only of Russia, but also of Ukraine, Belarus and many other countries.

No, every European ethnic group must be allowed to decide for itself and that is only possible if every European ethnic group has its own independent state! Only an Italian wants the best for Italy and only a Pole wants the best for Poland. a Frenchman is not interested in the interests of Italy. And exactly here lies the problem. There is nothing wrong with close cooperation, but a European state goes too far.
5
@albevanhanoy Only an Italian is interested in preserving Italian culture. A German or French person is not interested in this. That's why I say no and NO again to the EU state!

@Gio-ym4uj Most Europeans feel they belong to their home country and not to the European continent. I don't know where you come from, but my homeland bled for its independence for over 100 years. Only a Pole has an interest in preserving the Polish language, culture and traditions. I won't throw that away so that Berlin and Paris can compete better with China and the USA. Forget it!

@thegrumpydragon7601 Migrants had to integrate into an English-speaking colony. Europe consists of many countries with 1000 to 2000 years of history and many of these countries have 20 to 80 million inhabitants. You can't suddenly force over 400 million people to change their native language. In addition, millions of people would rebel because the residents of these countries feel they belong to their country and not to the continent of Europe.
4
@Gio-ym4uj How do you know he's an isolationist?
4
@albevanhanoy If these countries gave up their independence, they would be even more at risk. I am Pole and we would then be a minority with a declining birth rate in this European country. In the long run it would lead to our language, culture and traditions disappearing at some point. Only an independent Polish state can protect and preserve Polish culture. I have nothing against close cooperation between European states, but I am against one European state.
3
@albevanhanoy Fortunately, most Europeans think like me and are against a European state. And in order to compete with China or the USA, as I said, we don't need to give up our sovereignty.
3
@josipag2185 Go to any country in Europe and ask people what they feel like and I guarantee you that easily 90% of people will tell you that they feel like they belong to their home country and not the continent of Europe. Europeans are primarily French, Poles, Germans, Spaniards, Italians, etc.... If you ask an Italian or Pole what they are, they won't tell you "I'm European" but "I'm Pole" or "I'm Italian".
3
@Gio-ym4uj Then 90% of Europeans are isolationists and nationalists because most of them do NOT want their home countries to lose their independence.
3
@FarsightAE But the EU is still not a state. Fortunately!!

@albevanhanoy History shows that it leads to the disappearance of culture. The question is not “if” but how long it will take for the culture to disappear. Poland has a sharply declining birth rate and the rulers of this EU state have no interest in preserving Polish culture. At some point it would be more worthwhile to teach your own children English first because it would bring more advantages for your own child in this state. And so, from generation to generation, Polish is spoken less and less as a language in Poland. Look at Russified Belarus where over 80% of the population can't even speak Belarusian. No, this project is a danger to my home country. We also don't need to demand the independence of our countries in order to work more closely together.
1
@albevanhanoy English is not my native language and not the language I would first teach my children.
1
@albevanhanoy There are many Poles living abroad and many of them have children and these children cannot even speak Polish. Exactly the same thing would happen if Poland became part of a larger state. It would take maybe 2 or 3 maybe even 4 generations but at some point the Polish language would be the minority in Poland. The people would simply integrate into the new country.
1
@albevanhanoy The problem is not that people learn another language, but that at some point they no longer learn their native language. A state cannot function if more than 27 languages are spoken. IF the EU became a state, it would only be a matter of time before a language would be prioritized. Furthermore, we don’t need an EU state.

@isaks7042 What does Poland have in common with Spain or Ireland? Why should these countries become one state under the leadership of Berlin and Paris? And why should Brussels politicians care about Polish culture or the culture of another EU state? Why give up independence at all when you can achieve all of this with close cooperation? Ask yourself all these questions.
1
@isaks7042 And yes, Sicilians certainly know best what is good for Sicily, after all they are residents of Sicily. But the question is whether Sicilians don't see themselves as Italians? I'm not an Italy expert.

@albevanhanoy India has two national languages, Hindi and English. India also has many problems internally. India is also a former British colony where English was imposed as a language. Switzerland has 4 official national languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh - a multilingualism that is maintained and enshrined in law. The languages spoken in Switzerland border independent states in which these languages are spoken. Switzerland cannot suppress these languages without angering its neighboring countries. Besides, Switzerland doesn't want to join the EU, so the Swiss don't think your EU is that great after all. Bad example then.
1
@albevanhanoy You can't compare little Switzerland with 27 nations that have 20 to 80 million inhabitants. Switzerland is heavily influenced by neighboring countries in which one of these national languages dominates. The languages spoken in Switzerland are also spoken in the INDEPENDENT neighboring states, so these languages do not lose influence in Switzerland. What influence would Polish or Danish have in an EU state? Not a big one. You can't compare India with Europe either. In India many people are uneducated and live among themselves. Many of these languages are in the minority and are gradually being pushed out. Due to this cultural diversity in India, this country is also very unstable internally. And again, only a nation state can best preserve the culture and language of a country. I see no reason for an EU state. We can achieve everything that an EU state could achieve through close cooperation.

@josipag2185 And why should a disarmed Germany or France help Poland? In addition, nothing will happen to NATO except that it will grow by two new members (Sweden, Finland). An EU state is unnecessary. Everything an EU state can achieve can be achieved with close cooperation without giving up sovereignty.
1
@josipag2185 Trump has never said he wants to leave NATO. And even if NATO no longer exists, I don't see any difference whether Poland gives up its sovereignty to Paris and Berlin or to Moscow. Sovereignty is the most important thing and goes above all else, that's why Poland has an army to protect its own sovereignty and not to hand over sovereignty to Berlin and Paris.
1
@josipag2185 Dude I also mean Millenials and Z. I myself am a young millennial and I don't know anyone who says they are European.

@josipag2185 A military base was built in Poland under Trump.
