Newfies are a wonderful breed. 2) Is there some reason you didn't get to the mainland portion of the province of Newfoundland AND Labrador? 3) I found it fascinating that you pronounced the "s" in Gros Morne. I gather it can be pronounced sans the sound. Which, in your view, is more common among Anglophones? Among locals?

  2.  @DownieLive  Thanks. 2) I've never been to any part of the Maritimes or NL so I'm hardly the person to talk. 3) Always go with the locals. If you pronounce "Sacramento" in proper Spanish, most locals will tell you the "proper" pronunciation is closer to sackamenna. And I'm one of those people who pronounces the name of your home city slightly differently than the name of the city down in the State of Washington. I'm glad you listened to the home-town folks.
