NFTs and crypto being damaging to the environment is actually the secondary harmful part of the whole shitfest. It's like saying bleeding is a really bad consequence of being stabbed to death, while avoiding talking about the death part. Crypto and NFTs are self contained speculative instruments that were created for no real purposes beyond acting as a speculative instrument. That is why the people who advocate these shit are almost exclusively rich techbros who know they are at the top of this speculation pile or naive, stupid and maliciously nihilistic poor techbros who brought into the whole edifice as a get rich quick scheme. It is a new kind of pure scam not unlike the birth of Ponzi scheme.

That's the thing. They need to keep real money flowing into the crypto space so the techbros and rich ratfuckers can cash out even more. They will drain everything in society into this space that they control, that they already have complete control so they can fully exploit everything in the real world by controlling it in the virtual world.

@alleung42 Just because you sunk your life savings into crypto and is panicking to get out does not give you the right to spread that kind of evil around.

@justinwhite2725 Yup, and the internet brought to a whole level of destructiveness, magnitudes more destructive. The tulip bulb was a relatively new phenomena in recorded history about mass hysteria and mania and bubble speculation. Now we know all of that and we still do it. Which is why Dan said there are all those history books that already warned us about this kind of bullshit.

I'm glad Dan mentioned how side projects that turned out to be good is ultimately distracting and serve as a foil to legitimate the vastly truly terrible parts of crypto and NFTs. It's like pointing out how a sex slave trafficker who helped a dozen refugees crossed borders quickly that one time and saved their lives, in the context of the same trafficker also selling hundreds of women and children into sex slavery. It's beside the point because it is insidious to point out those good projects relative to the real, absolutely gigantic amount of damage crypto and NFTs are doing now. It's a propaganda and deflection technique that is often used with ulterior motives.

CEO of a country is a bad idea, worse than a president because what are you going to do with "unproductive" members of society? Do you fire them? How do you fire them? Do you execute them? Banish them? Round them up and force them to work to be productive? How do you run a country like a business? Conservatives never able to answer these questions.

NFT as a concept is really an indictment on the rot that lies at the heart of western culture and economy today. There is no value there beyond commodifying anything and everything under the sun. It's fake value, it's not real and the entire edifice depends on people believing that it is real. So as Dan said, there is a lot of myth making and hype that surrounds this beast to make it work. It is basically selling lies and nothing else. Just straight up lies. Who comes up with this kind of shit? Degenerates come up with this kind of shit and these techno-degenerates seem to all come from the America and Europe.

Describing crypto as tokens like from an arcade or carnival, that somehow can be sold for real money is brilliant. Really encapsulate what it in reality really is.

@rappinron1384 Yes it is. Just because you are stupid enough to put your money in crypto and NFTs does not give you the right to lie and con people to put in their hard earn money into this space, so you can cash out. Crypto and NFTs are nothing more than speculative instruments created out of thin air and is now used by insiders to con more people. Despicable.
