@mortenovergaard7397 Prohibition only works if the society actually has a good foundation where people have roofs over their heads, food on the table, fulfilling well paying jobs, access to education and healthcare. Factors that many of these poor Americans have little to no access to. That's why they escape into drugs and alcohol. Happy, fulfilled, purposeful people do not abuse drugs and alcohol even if you give them free drugs and alcohol. Without solving the fundamental social problems in America, no amount of prohibition will help.
