I think you are mistaking China for the US, who actually invade a nearby island (Cuba) and failed, but also invaded many other islands (Hawai'i, Guam, Philippines etc.) and proclaims the entire western hemisphere as theirs (Monroe Doctrine). Are you sure you are not projecting or just plain old hypocrisy and lack of self awareness?

  3. There is no way Taiwanese went to the polls not thinking about what the DPP is doing with regards to Mainland China. China is the largest trading partner to Taiwan, any conflict or tensions with China will inevitably affect domestic affairs as it already has with America hollowing out TMSC. Even if the Taiwanese people strictly voted based on domestic issues, it is still a huge indictment on the DPP's ability to deliver results to the people, and that will inevitably be tied to their competence in navigating the complex issues with China. If Tsai can't handle things at home, how will she be able to handle things with China, and with the US behind egging war on. All you are doing is mining copium.

The US can keep its word on the One China Policy and peace will continue because China has absolutely no desire to take Taiwan by force. China can wait 20, 50 even 100 years for peaceful reunification. But if it insist on trying to turn Taiwan independent to start a proxy war against China, then it is the US to be blamed for crossing another country's red line deliberately and unilaterally. Russia wouldn't have to do their SMO if Ukraine remained neutral and the west kept to their word with Minsk 1 and 2. It is all US's and Europe's fault and it is high time we say it out loud.

  12. Taiwan can negotiate with China and end this charade and not be part of America's cynical game of chess in this region. China wants reunification and will probably agree to nearly any terms. If Taiwan don't do anything now, it will have far less leverage to do so in the future.
