Just go to show that libertarianism is a deadens ideology. It is just a self indulgent mentality. All its accolytes usually write self indulgent works with little regard to actual nuances, the real human conditions. And a lot of projection, twisted projections trying to masquerade as legitimate ideas. Libertarians are adults who never outgrew their angsty teenage years.

@gabesd6697 That... is true to a certain extent. There is a mentor troupe in Chinese writing that is the mysterious, come in fast, leave fast mentor. The mentor is usually some powerful figure who disappeared a long time ago, and the hero either seeks him out or the mentor finds him. He teaches the hero, they trained and he kicks him out and say the hero has to move on while the mentor disappears again. The mentor usually do not die because he is almost like a repository of knowledge rather than an actual character. Or he has complex arcs of his own that doesn't revolve around the hero. I feel like this kind of troupe is useful for the writer because it keeps the mentor's mysticism and its potential for later shenanigans, usually when the hero met something he could not overcome in the real world. So he went back to seek out his mentor again for that "Final Technique(tm)" that either the hero was too impatient to learn at the time or the mentor refused to teach him because he has not "matured" enough. There is also a Chinese troupe that mentors do not teach the "Final Technique(tm)" because he fears the student will surpass him. It's usually involve an evil mentor who still wants to keep the hero subservient but useful.

Proven yet again that libertarianism is a creepy and deadens ideology. The entire premise is based on a juvenile view of the world of "you don't get to tell me what to do! I get to tell me what to do!"

Stick your head in the sand and ignore all your problems. Sounds like republican voters.

The brilliance of Dracula is that at the end of Ep 1, I want to help him kill humanity. The brilliance of Belmont, Sypha and Alucard is that by the end of Ep 3, I want to save Dracula from his own vengeance.

That's a reason why Sun Wukong is such a huge character in Eastern Asian mythologies. He is OP as fuck and fun as fly. And why Buddha is the preeminent deity. He is even more OP. Buddha is the Chinese version of Deus ex machina.

You should include one of the most famous failed assassination attempts in world history that the the attempt on the life of the King of Qin (who would went on to become China's first emperor and mercury ingesting enthusiast) by Jing Ke?

You can look no further today for a real life vengence based "sins of the father" that is what is happening in Israel/Palestine right now, with the Holocaust as the background.

Is America using Serizawa's sacrifice to make it look like the atomic bombs weren't really that bad? Yes, yes it is. Maybe not consciously, but we always like to write in stuff to make our crimes look less bad so as to make ourselves look good. We are exceptionally good at this.

This video makes.... a lot of sense.

The Greeks and other ancients were realists. We are the ones who created fake stuff like Christian doctrines which was created more or less by Paul, not by Jesus. That's why the pearl clutching exist.

The whole 19th century in East Asia can be boiled down to one lesson: do not be weak or you will get bullied. Everything China is doing right now is what the Meiji Restoration were doing: do not be weak.

El Dorado probably did more to get rid of shit evil people than any justice system. What better way to punish evil than to let people suffer the natural and logical consequences of their evil deeds.

I find it amusing that Blue still applies normal moral outrages to these "pope fights" when the obvious conclusion is that Christianity had been a scam and a sham for a long time. "Omg, how could they do this, this is supposed to be the highest office of christiandom!" Yea, let's stop pretending that it means anything.

"All the while the nobles and the clergy were living large and not paying taxes" Doesn't this remind anyone of a very similar situation in many parts of the world, including America right now?

America censored Japan on talking about atomic bombs? How very tiananmen of us to do that.

XuanZhang getting almost eaten by demons is such a running theme (or gag) in Journey to the West that it became a comedic troupe in East Asian media. "How is Xuang Zhang gonna get out of this one? He's lunch for sure." "Nah, Pigsy is gonna do something really really stupid and somehow Wukong will rescue Xuan Zhang."

There a few groups of people that embodied evil in its purest form. The Nazis, slavers, the people who works at Cambridge analytica and the conquistadors.

The lesson should not be "Don't do colonialism" because it depends on the strong to grant you mercy. The lesson should be "Never be weak enough that other countries can roll over you and colonize your ass."

There is a variation of this trope is the generational mothership. People lived on a huge ship that is going to another star hoping that there is a habitable planet there. The usual horrors are there but you can put a twist is that they are running away from something, another horror more personal than the void of space, and there is a feeling that that thing is out there still looking for you.

Now imagine that this culture's mythology formed the basis of our culture instead of a desert tribe's war god.

Alexander was really one of the first generals in the world to used combined arms. Instead of just using one type unit, he used different kinds and combined them in a way that utilize their strengths and reduce their weakness, to terrifying efficiency. Probably the other generals that used combined arms contemporary with Alexander and Philips are the Chinese during the Warring States period.
