  1. Alexander was really one of the first generals in the world to used combined arms. Instead of just using one type unit, he used different kinds and combined them in a way that utilize their strengths and reduce their weakness, to terrifying efficiency. Probably the other generals that used combined arms contemporary with Alexander and Philips are the Chinese during the Warring States period.
