Just like villain in James Bond movie, he stupidly reveals his plan to 007 ("Hahaha! This is how I plan to take over the world!") Arrogant fools like this only get themselves defeated.

Indians need to form more Hindenbergs of their own, since there are plenty of opportunities for this kind of investigative research Target-rich environment

He reminds me of Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars

Chernobyl disaster triggered political reforms in the Soviet Union. Will Coronavirus generate pressure for change in China?

What does it mean to be inclusive? It's like saying you want Olympics where everyone is given gold medals. It's like saying others cannot get married unless you are also included in the marriage. Business is a relationship, just like marriage is a relationship. You cannot interfere in others forming relationships by imposing your demand to be included. If you are worthy enough, then only someone will want to marry you. Likewise, same goes for hiring. It all has to be voluntary.

cannon fodder is not the correct phrase here -- "fig leaf"

You make it sound like a snap of the finger. Anyone can blab pie-in-the-sky promises, but then you'll immediately whine when they can't realistically be met.
7
@Razor202 - WTF is so important about bullet train, anyway? These are expensive glamour projects which mainly create jobs for Japanese engineers, and not such fundamental infrastructure that high-speed conventional rail can't offer competitive alternatives.
6
Even Chinese don't all speak one language
6
better save up some chicken soup / broth
6
@Razor202 - it's competing with domestic air travel. Also, as I said, there are fast trains that don't use the special bullet train technology, which can compete on travel time and overall cost.
5
There are other forms of engineering besides splicing. "Gain of function" research can use non-splicing methods, and that needs to be understood.

So he's doing DCA?
3
@shikamaruthehokage - South Korea and Taiwan have only become democracies relatively recently. Previously they were dictatorships.

Open Society Foundation -- Soros? Forget him then.

Even Jim Rogers is much more articulate.

The fact that the mere dismissal of Bolton could make oil prices go down is a sign that the oil market is bearish in general, with any small thing being able to send it downward. Conversely, it would take something really major to send oil prices upward for more than a brief spurt - major as in major positive economic news, or major oil supplier disaster affecting longer term supplies.

so is sekoolarism -- there are plenty of scoundrels and refuges to go around

Sometimes you've gotta go for broke - you've just got to flat out try your hardest - and if the public still rejects you, then fuck'em Later on when ghetto riots are happening every other day along with cop-killings, when joblessness has gutted every city, when terror atrocities are happening every other day, they'll be moaning and groaning over why they didn't take the chance that Trump offered them At that point it will be time to start thinking like Noah and the Flood

***** Real change from a real outsider - he had to struggle his way past huge amounts of opposition from the political establishment. Meanwhile, Hillary is the coronated candidate, who has taken establishment cronyism to new heights - depths. She is even willing to court the big banks and Wall Street who are beyond the traditional Democrat supporters, in order to fatten herself up as much as possible. All she has to do is rely on the black vote and women's vote, and she can laugh all the way to the banks. Under the Clintons, the Democratic Party has more than ever been reduced to a mere coalition of special interests, many of whom have nothing in common with each other in this alliance of convenience. It's all just a big Faustian bargain.

Indian sensitivity/vulnerability to inflation has to be overcome with Supply Side economic policies. This demands deregulation of the labour market , which is the most abundant resource. :hand-purple-blue-peace: Interviewer should know better than to shallowly posit this as just a matter of expenditure or monetary policy. Little knowledge is a dangerous thing. She's too interested in the sound of her own voice, always interrupting him and not letting him speak. Like a precocious kid.:body-green-covering-eyes:

@backpropagation8365 - competitive federalism is a good thing. It's good when individuals states take initiative to improve their competitiveness. This is better than just waiting around for central govt, and whining for them to do something.
2
As an appointee of the left-wing Congress Party, Rajan is their loyal shill. So naturally he'll go around toeing their blame-India-first line, exonerating Pakistan from blame. He blames the latest suicide bombing attack on "youth unemployment" while ignoring how the RDX explosives were smuggled across the border with the orchestration of the Pakistani govt.
2
@goolooggg9005 - rest of the world doesn't speak your Mandarin, which isn't even the first language for 80% of Chinese.
2
informal businesses are low-level businesses India should not be focused on counting growth of its paan-wallahs just to feel accomplished in growth

India passed a law that allows non-Muslims in neighboring countries who are living under persecution to apply for Indian citizenship. So we're talking Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, and Buddhists who live like 2nd-class citizens in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and the Islamic Republic of Bangladesh. Muslims in India (along with allied Left-wing student anarchists) are now rioting in protest against this new law. Why? Because they already hate all the non-Muslims already living in India, and would really hate to see any more of them showing up there. This law does not in any way infringe upon existing citizens of India, including Muslims.

"serious survey" - by whom - the Chinese govt? China is the world's biggest intellectual property thief by far
2
I think this guy is full of shit. "Gain of Function" research is a form of engineering that doesn't necessarily involve direct genetic engineering. So this guy is wrong when he says it's not an engineered virus. All he means is that it's not genetically engineered, but the reality is that there are other forms of engineering which aren't about direct genetic manipulation.
2
@shokkwave - Adani's financial schemes are unfortunately quite crooked and shaky, so he has only himself to blame. Shareholders deserve not to be cheated by such scams. Therefore we need Indians to create more HIndenbergs of their own, to expose such scams as early as possible.
2
@PingPong-wr1cl - yeah, we need to change that. We need to end this crap.
2
Because they were also founded by a deluded old man who thinks he's master of the universe
2
@naruto6918 - I think the current govt is certainly more pro-development than previous govts
1
@backpropagation8365 - less democracy means more corruption. We already have enough corruption as it is - why do you want more?
1
@kicker3595 - big deal, rest of the world doesn't understand it. India has better understanding of english, which is spoken by rest of the world. When I see Indians and Chinese outside of their own countries, the Indians are better communicators than Chinese are.
1
@Adi-oc2hd - alright, if it's not on paper, then how do you intend to count it? By rolling a dice?
1
damn guy needs to stop stuttering/stammering

Soros attacks nationalists in various countries all over the world, not only just Modi. He is a Leftist who supports only Leftist parties.
1
Minister is in Davos to promote India, as part of their invite to him. The fact that foreign media are covering him is part of the promotion.
1
How is Dr Li Wenliang dead? He was only 34, and not some frail elderly person, nor did he have any pre-existing illness weakening him. So how the hell is he dead? Does this mean that this virus can kill everybody who gets infected by it? The flu doesn't kill healthy people like this. What's going on here? Explanations, anyone?
1
Putin? Where is Putin posing any problems for India? You do know that India's economy is 3x larger than Russia's, don't you?
1
Good grief - thought she was going to jump out of her chair and start slapping him.:body-green-covering-eyes: Interviewer wanted to overshadow the interviewee. Was she the main subject of this interview or him? Just ask your question properly, and give him a chance to answer.
1
@Shubham Singla - who is your preferred leader again? Technologically advanced pappu?
1
@TJ-jf1cq - the fact that interviewer is quoting a strongly biased partisan like Raghuram Rajan is a dead giveaway that this segment is a hatchet-piece. Mike Bloomberg is heavily invested in China, as we all know.

In 1986, Reagan bombed Qaddafi's palace in Tripoli, Libya, killing his daughter. Qaddafi retaliated by bombing a US airliner over Lockerbie, Scotland. But today, the US is in a far better position to handle Iran than back in the 1980s. Iran may try to go nuclear, since that would be prerequisite to any confrontation with the US.

That's why China suffering Evergrande, etc. Built on lies. Large opaque system is recipe for large-scale capital misallocation.
1
No, I don't agree. "Gain of Function" research is a form of engineering that may be behind this virus, even if it's not direct genetic engineering.
1
Democracy is fundamental, without which corruption would run rampant. China has the worst corruption, with vast sums gobbled up and hidden from outside view. We need to reform our democracy and granularize it. We need to split up existing states, and have around 80-100 states overall. National Security Council should be made part of the constitution.
1
Let's not talk about Jews - this guy Soros is just a globalist fool who hates nations and nationalism. When anti-nationals do bad things, then he doesn't seem to notice or care.
