It's from Bloomberg -- so in spite of the clickbait title, you know it's going to be full of venom :body-green-covering-eyes:

US and Japan will sail their naval ships through these areas, and won't cede them to China. Other countries like Vietnam will now similarly go to the Hague International Court to challenge China over their island claims. Things are going to get more difficult for China on this.

As an Indian, I find we hardly mention China in our conversations. Maybe Chinese only imagine everyone compares themselves to them. I've frequently seen Chinese comparing their own country to the United States. There has even been an attempt to coin similar phrases like the "Chinese Dream" which is supposed to be analogous to the "American Dream".

Shanghai Noon Hah - like Chinese nuclear and missile proliferation to Pakistan and North Korea isn't aimed at India and Japan. Likewise, when India provides ship-killing BrahMos missiles to Vietnam, please just think of it as a mere business transaction. No hard feelings, bub.

SpaceX is still standing on NASA's shoulders - not every country can just create a SpaceX

Does this mean we can have more Wuhan viruses, to allow govts more convenient justifications for lockdowns against their citizenry?

As if it's inexpensive to send materials up to space for processing into manufactured goods and then bring it back down again. That's ridiculous. Sourcing materials from space would likewise be expensive, as would bringing them back down to Earth as finished goods. The only reason to manufacture things in space is for use out there, and there's no economic case for that yet. What's the point in showing biological organs being printed in space? Why would it be better to create biological structures in the dangerous environment of outer space, where there's radiation and other conditions harmful to life? Back on Earth, real biology happens all the time.

I wouldn't see Taiwan as a potential Vietnam War for China - I'd maybe see it as a potential Dunkirk

Will that mean the rest of you will eventually be trying to crash-land over there, in a desperate attempt to get medical treatment from them, like in the movie Elysium? Mars is pretty far away.

Salvador Tubigan China chooses to ignore Hague and relies on might-makes-right.

+Frank M Buddy, the Apollo moon-landings were done by the govt. This is the first private reusable spacecraft to land on Earth after going to space. Fine, it's not orbital, but you know even Falcon9's booster doesn't achieve orbit.

The BE-3 engine is pretty impressive, and the BE-4 will be even more impressive still. When that comes out, it could be a real game-changer. It's upto SpaceX to come up with their Raptor engine to compete.

+Jaylen Morales yes, but ordinary people don't get to vote for the Pope, or control what he says

this is truly a 21st century story -- competition in the space cargo market what will the stories look like 10 or 20 years from now? I wonder!

Why are they looking at nanotubes? I thought graphene was supposed to be better 🤔

I think it could more likely be Latin America, especially as US shifts supply chains back towards its hemisphere

@MisterKeitel, how will that save Greece? they're not spending on wars, they're spending on fancy benefits for their workers, and early retirement packages

Given that AI can detect cancers and other problems on medical imaging more accurately than humans can, then why shouldn't this apply to assessing UAP footage too? 👽👾 Also - why has the term 'UFO' been retired? (Is it some make-work reason, so that more people can be hired to to update all the documentation?)

@serpenshitandlaowhy86arebo72 - I'm saying that with Chinese Dream (identical phrasing) they are comparing aspirations.

@serpenshitandlaowhy86arebo72 - we don't just reflexively mimic concepts and phrases of other people. We have our own ideas and our own wording for things. China cannot imitate American Dream because China is not a democracy - it's a dictatorship - totally different system.
