  28. I think it's good that Indian defense capabilities are ramping up, and think that military exports can help to generate revenue even while meeting the country's dire defense needs. However, I don't think "Atmanirbar Bharat" was meant primarily for things like missiles -- instead we're supposed to be manufacturing a wide variety of consumer goods, industrial equipment, etc. The fact that we have to describe BrahMos as "Atmanirbar Bharat" shows that we're begging for opportunities to use the phrase, since our mass-manufacturing dream doesn't seem to be happening. Our crummy left seem to create problems every time a factory shows up in India -- no wonder investment won't take root. ☹
