A large fraction of Taliban fighters are Urdu-speakers, a language only spoken in Pakistan. Bin Laden was given sanctuary in Pakistan for 10 years, living across the street from their national military academy. Taliban have been living on Pakistani territory all this time. Taliban have now seized Afghan prisons holding AlQaeda and other terrorists and liberated them.

China's economy is larger than Russia's by an order of magnitude, and it's about to expand its nuclear arsenal by a lot.
