I don't think that dramatic music helps reporting - it seems to be more about creating theater. Reporting should be objective.

@pranavpandit153 370 wasn't benefiting anybody except a narrow group of families who became feudal lords. Ordinary people aren't crying for those wealthy ruling families and their lost privilege. Maybe you have ties to those ruling families as well - because I haven't seen any Kashmiri Hindus lamenting the loss of 370.

NYT's liberalism is all just a put-on. It's just a means to an end: power. So occasionally, when they're in a frenzy, their mask falls off and their fakeness is exposed, like a Freudian slip.

I don't think that dramatic music helps reporting - it seems to be more about creating theater. Reporting should be objective rather than sensationalist. Why is the reporting only from the capitol of Srinagar? Why is there no reporting from the rest of Kashmir? Many are celebrating the change in the law.

Why does NYT even bother to do reviews, especially for popcorn flicks, when they just sound pretentious and snooty?

"If this debate were a salad, then what kind of salad would it be?"

@zahirshah22 This would not be happening if Article 370 had not been uselessly created in the first place, and if Pakistan had not started to attempt in Kashmir what it has been doing in Afghanistan. Any Kashmiri who thinks about independence should look at much larger Afghanistan nearby, and ask if Pakistan would really allow them to be independent. We can all see the misery which Pakistan has caused in Afghanistan. Furthermore, even people in Pakistan itself aren't really free, as their political leaders are installed by the Pak army. That same Pak army is running Pakistan into the ground, turning it into another North Korea, while ordinary Pakistanis are helpless.

Ohh, so when the Democrat Left try to tar Trump as an anti-national stooge of Russia, that's not a nationalist argument being made by the Democrat Left? When the same Left tout allegations against Trump as coming from the "national security/intelligence community" - without even naming who these accusers are, demanding that we accept them sight unseen - then that's not an attempt to use nationalism for political purposes? I find your stance to be fundamentally dishonest and fundamentally disagreeable. When the old saying was coined that "Patriotism is the Last Refuge of Scoundrels", then the current tactics of the Left-biased media certainly come to mind.

NYT cartoonist Bill Plympton is a HOMOPHOBE! There is now video evidence to prove it!

So they deliberately didn't say which city this protest was happening in - they just said it was "in Kashmir's largest city." The NYT is playing games here, showing protests in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir while pretending that these very protests were filmed in Indian Kashmir. NYT has totally degenerated into a crooked mouthpiece for propaganda and outright fabrication. This is what the Left are reduced to - petty name calling and graffiti. The NYT is just a bastion of Left-wing flatulence. Their venality and bile are on full display.

In a war of ideas and ideologies, more vibrant debate is the answer - not less in the name of sensitivity.

@Ish218 crack happened, but not because of George Bush

@SeekSeekerMaster don't sneer at someone as a cow-worshipper, you bomb-worshipper.

Nice to see Dems going full McCarthyite -- didn't Bernie honeymoon in Moscow?

@suhasini raj I've seen your reporting before, Suhasini Raj. Srinagar may nominally be a capitol city, but this city by no means represents all of Kashmir, which is a patchwork of far-flung territories with very stark differences. Did you bother covering the people in Jammu or in Ladakh, or care enough to ask what their opinions were on the removal of 370? They're ecstatically celebrating its removal. Are you willing to acknowledge or report on their longstanding strenuous demands for more control over their lives, and in not wanting to be hostages to Srinagar? Given how many at the NYT would even love to see the US Electoral College abolished so that America could be ruled entirely from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, it's not terribly surprising to me that the NYT wouldn't care to report on those living beyond Kashmir's capitol and immediate outskirts. The NYT sees only what it wants to see, and that's long been apparent in all of its reporting. Gray Lady Down!

How do you know he's not Muslim? Why do you post using European names?

@zahirshah22 you people are just historical revisionists who only wallow in conspiracy theories. That's why you believe 9-11 attacks were carried out by FBI, CIA, etc. It's why you think that Bin Laden wasn't really being sheltered in Abbottabad by the Pakistani govt, and that the news was all fake. Reality is quite different, and can't be ignored, much as you'd like to hide from it.
1
New European Times, you mean (both groups are in bed together politically, these days)

You shouldn't drive a motorcyle in wintery/snowy/icy conditions. But there are lots of warm countries where it doesn't snow, and where this type of vehicle would be more affordable than a car. Alternatively, what if this vehicle could be equipped with some kind of injector spray that sprays the tires with a traction agent if it senses the vehicle slipping? That might work too.

LOL, the NYT serves up the same old ideological sneer at anything that doesn't conform to their rigid political litmus tests. I would've thought they'd at least appreciate Melissa Leo playing a clone of Madeleine Notbright, or Angela Basset as a female head of the Secret Service. But I guess the villains have to be Russian mobsters before the NYT applauds.
