On his recent trip to Pakistan, Iran's Raisi may have been negotiating for Pakistani tactical nuclear weapons designs (which are themselves of Chinese origin) In exchange for some untold billions of dollars for the cash-strapped Pakistanis, the Iranians may have gotten the lower-yield nuke designs they wanted (this lets them make more of them with their available fissile material). One further clue in relation to that was the Pakistani PM's quick trip to Beijing while Raisi's visit was going on (Chinese are the ones who gave the final nod for proliferating their bomb tech)

  14. @5:17 - It's not that India hasn't "learned" that partnership with others requires seeing things from their viewpoint. India is well aware of these other viewpoints, but India has asserted limits and boundaries on the extent of its involvement with Quad. India is willing to participate in efforts to diplomatically and economically counter China, in order to push the Chinese into behaving more responsibly and less belligerently in the international arena. India doesn't want foreign military bases on its soil, like NATO has, and also India wants to avoid such direct military provocations against the Chinese. In the end, you can't wish away your neighbors, or sail away from them back to home ports on the other side of the world - as the US has done when departing from Vietnam and Afghanistan - and so ultimately there have to be efforts to live together with mutual respect from both sides of the border.

  20. The US military provided the data to Ukraine necessary for launching ATACMS missiles at Crimea, which killed multiple people, including children. That means the US is at war with Russia. Article 1 of the US Constitution says that only Congress is vested with the decision-making power to commit the United States to war with a foreign power. And yet the US has been committed into war with no such decision by Congress. Article 1 has been violated and thrown by the wayside. Zeihan doesn't care of course - he'll just prattle on about how awesome the USA is. Without a functioning constitution, the USA is not awesome - it's nothing -- it's just a banana republic now.

  21. I think it has to do with insufficient industrialization in India. People eventually assert their rights, it's a question of being able to pay for everyone's upkeep. India has not yet achieved sufficient productivity to sustain these things. Indians still mainly live in their villages, where life is as primitive as can be. As India industrializes, and productivity improves, then people will eventually catch up on how they treat each other.

China can out-produce and out-supply everyone, and they're backing Russia, regardless of US threats. Putin is preparing for a looming fight with a NATO whose escalationism shows no sign of abating. Ukraine is right nextdoor - and it's full of Russians - always has been, that's its history. Western Ukraine was part of Poland, the other half was part of Russia. Both countries referred to their respective halves as their "borderlands". (that's what "Ukraine" means, you can try to lip-flap and deny as much as you want, but those are the facts.) Fastest way to start a fight or a war is to put a knife to someone's throat -- and that's what Victoria Nuland & her NeoCons did when they decided to overthrow the elected govt of Yanuckovitch. Why did they do that? Because Putin blocked them in Syria, where they were trying to overthrow Assad by backing ISIS, etc against him. This was after Nuland & NeoCons overthrew and killed Qadafi, which was after they overthrew and killed Saddam. (Basically, the NeoCons were "trying to make the world safe for Israel" - a crusade they've been on ever since the catastrophic collapse of the Oslo "peace process".) But Putin dared to block the NeoCons in Syria by deplying the Russian military there. So Nuland & NeoCons decided to go after Russia via its sensitive point - Ukraine. They overthrew Yanuckovitch, and the rest is history. Putin has had to invade Ukraine to head off the obvious attempt to destroy Russia. If a hostile anti-American power were to overthrow and install a hostile anti-American govt in Mexico, the United States would invade in a heartbeat. Major powers don't tolerate a knife being put to their throat. The US wouldn't, and neither should Russia.

Nobody's been leaving there due to "religious persecution" -- that's just a myth spun by the Left (who'll also claim that America is living under Jim Crow). Islamic Pakistan and Bangladesh are right nextdoor, yet there's not one Muslim from India who's showing up at the borders asking to be let in. There are ironically plenty of people from Pakistan and Bangladesh trying to get into India (the Bangladesh border is worse than the US-Mexican border). Take a look at what's happening in France and Sweden right now, and you'll see why nobody's anxious to let such migrants in. They neither bring any technical skills with them, nor are they willing to assimilate into any other society. Even Muslim Rohingya refugees from Myanmar made a beeline to go live in Muslim-majority Indian Kashmir, where they recently attacked a police station. No country gains from such refugees.

  42.  @jonlittle5032  - the South Koreans are basically captives of the United States, just like Germany and Japan. They're forced to go along with whatever the US wants. When the US blew up the North Stream pipeline - Germany's energy lifeline - the Germans had to swallow hard and accept it. That's what a captive nation does. Countries like Germany, Japan, South Korea don't have a choice. The US has them all by their short-hairs, and they know it. They know that if the US withdraws security for them and trade, that they're basically screwed. South Korea had already started to supply Ukraine with weapons - because again the US told them to.

While the US has gotten them another $6B thru the IMF, the reality is that Pakistan is going to need ~$150B to stave off bankruptcy, which no international institution can provide. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Also, Pakistan answers to China, being a puppet satellite state just like North Korea is. China would be happy to light more fires around the world to keep the US busy, as part of Chinese preparations to go to war over Taiwan.

So Trudeau has had to come up with additional alternatives to supplement the black vote, by cultivating Sikhs, and now also increasingly Muslims, to get himself some stalwart loyalist voters. Notice that Trudeau has now also said that his govt aren't fully convinced that Israel didn't bomb the Gaza hospital -- that's his ethnic voter pandering instincts manifesting themselves again. Likewise, MPs from Trudeau's ruling Liberal Party are being pushed by Muslim voters to demand Israel enter into a ceasefire with Hamas. Canada's state mouthpiece, the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) are circulating internal memos advising that Hamas not be described as "terrorist", claiming that assessment was merely subjective opinion and not necessarily factual. Again, the effects of ethnic political pandering are on display.

I don't buy this argument that Russia is just waiting to invade country after country, or invade waves of countries. I think NATO is scaring the Russians, and that Americans would prefer to abandon this game of indefinite antagonism and Cold War 2.0, especially when it's the pro-Marxist voices in the West who are egging on this new Cold War.

She's been the worst Finance Minister that Canada has ever had, in no small part due to the fact that she's had no prior experience running anything financially. She was a journalist who decided to go into politics. Her latest budget, which she helped draft before bailing out of the govt, has an excruciating $62 Billion deficit. If this downward spiral continues, Canada will be caught in a Debt Trap, and will itself become a 3rd World country -- much like the people it's currently importing in a deluge that's swamping the country.
