  2. Well what they did by banning foreigners was xenophobia, no way to sugar coat that. And isolationism didnt do well for them, as their society stagnated culturally and technologically. Ironically, they dont like foreigners, but its the foreigners that brought their country from the mud to industrialization and modernization, precisely because other countries had international interactions that facilitated advancement and change.

  7. If being critical of societies negative aspects is considered "not Japanese", then no wonder their society is dying. They are all utter sheep that are content to not fight for a better life.
