  4. Zolpidem is not a benzo and I think it would be akin to a crime to not allow a sleepless senior to use it. If it is affecting balance and thinking, maybe the senior is getting too high a dose. Also, if you're "discontinuing" it in an older adult who has been benefitting from zolpidem, you do know it will cause withdrawal symptoms along with the sleeplessness again?

  6. If an older person is "addicted" to benzos, why try to take them off of it? Why not just keep them at a low consistent dose?

  9. Zoloft can causer personality changes such as anger, irritability etc. I'm hearing that Prozac has been helpful for some family members.

  17. If a patient is in the hospital, and they usually have a rx for ambien, will that hospital give it to them at night? As there is a risk of withdrawal symptoms if they don't.

  22. This is why I've told my doctor I prefer to use zolpidem instead of OTC. At the rigtht dose for me, it leaves me refreshed in the a.m. and feeling well slept, without the harshness and side effects of the OTC's.
