  2. ??  My first vehicle was a manual transmission.  I didn't even know how to drive it when I bought it, the salesman taught me.  All my cars but my current one have been manual.  It completely depends on how you drive them.  You can get HECKA better gas mileage on a manual.   Like a LOT better.  I got so good at driving my manual even with one hand in the rear seat (my kids), and still got great performance and mileage.   And manuals are FUN to drive.
