  1. Bollocks, mate. This makes no sense, since bots will just create ten times as many accounts. Only humans lost out. The reason he did it was that he can't pay the bandwidth bill. The absolute smoothbrain genius consequence is that external links stopped working, and the servers got hammered by retry requests instead.
