I love the comments from stable geniuses saying "Lol, just use the right oil and your wet belt will be fine. Anyway, it's a penny per mile to change it." Well, what's the right oil? Stellantis repeatedly change their minds: you'll get different answers for the same VIN from Stellantis, Citroen, Peugeot, Opel/Vauxhall dealers, or garages, depending which day you ask. And tell that to my 5 year old, 34,000 mile 1.2 PureTech, that's had "the right oil" every year, but still has a swollen, cracked belt. My local indie wants £900 (minimum) to £1,500 (if they have to go in and clean the strainer), and it's not like they even want the money - they advised me to just trade it in and never touch that engine again. The final nail in the "Ah, it's fine" argument is that Stellantis have changed to a chain: they know the wet belt is, and always was, junk.
