There's a gray area. If guests would act civilized it wouldn't be such a bad problem.

I disagree. Isn't it great to live in America where we have the freedom to disagree.

It's only a good idea if you have like 10+ people and everyone can chip in on a big house. If you're 2-4 people it's cheaper to just stay in a hotel. Most airbnb travelers like having a full sized kitchen, garage, private pool, etc.
5
Airbnb is only worth it if you have a large group and everyone can pitch in to rent a big house. It's more than a hotel for 4 people or less. Most people don't have common sense though.
5
Airbnb guests become squatters. Don't live in a blue state.
4
Yea you sound like a real upstanding guy with that screen name and blow up doll picture.
4
@marblox9300 Same with Section 8. We need to cut that out immediately.
4
@xyz987123abc People like you are typically "defund the police" types... but love to call the police on a non-issue.
4
@fjnsocal If you're traveling with 10 people, get a big house and split the cost, it's so much cheaper... plus you have a full sized kithen, a living room, garage, private pool.

@leonie563 Trump2024

You think anyone with a job is greedy. My guess is you're broke. That's a broke person's statement.
3
Illegals have ruined California also, but no one says a word. Can't have your cake and eat it too. Now Palm Springs has laws against new STRs so I think you missed the boat.
2
I'm guessing you don't travel.
2
They did that in Nashville. People got around this by putting their properties in LLC and you can still sell the LLC without the city knowing. Court cases have been won in Nashville so those LLC homes are very expensive to buy.
2
Why don't they simply build more houses, instead of blaming airbnb owners? I would say airbnbs are about 2% of the housing problem.
2
Oprah also.
2
So you're ok with Trump building the wall? I know I am.
2
Not everywhere. 65% of all homes in Florida are second homes. I don't think many people care who live in FL.
2
@wandak1889 A little drama, yes. Not "more" crime.
2
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Sound like you could be getting rich but you want to "do the right thing" this one time.
1
@marblox9300 Shuddup copying and pasting. Your socialist views are better suited for North Korea.
1
Run for office... but I'll be voting against you.
1
The Maui gov let those fires destroy native lives. You think they will help anyone?
1
Not necessarily.
1
@Peter-tk6rm LOL yea bro you live in a $20 million and have a security team.
1
We should have naturally had a recession in 2020, but our government printed trillions. Don't be mad at someone speaking reality.
1
@ReiShirouOfficial You could have bought a property in FL for so cheap before Covid. FL had FREEDOM in 2020 that's why so many people moved there to drive prices up. Not much to do with airbnb.
1
@ReiShirouOfficial Go hang out with friends if you're 22yo. Stop worrying about real estate.
1
It will be a liberal city. Enjoy.
1
That's when you should have turned your home into an airbnb and retired early.
1
Socialism and communism is not what USA is all about.
1
Your opinion is it's a scummy way to make money, I disagree. Business is business.
1
Half the government workers own airbnbs, they don't want it stopped.
1
Let's be honest, there are no "true" neighborhoods anymore. The whole world has been turned upside down by bad policies.
1
@sandraalegria3439 Neighbors can be criminals also. This isn't the 50s.
1
Exactly. They should have done that years ago.
1
@JayZ-to6up You can't do that to people. Let them invest lots of money then strip them of their rights. I can tell you have a worker mentality, get back to work, your break is over.
1
@JayZ-to6up People have always had the ability to rent a house in residential zones, they're just doing it for 3 days instead of 365 days.
1
@JayZ-to6up It's a gray area, and who are you to state the rules. Those are your opinions and I have mine. Thank you.
1
Sanctuary cities NEVER get it right. Now you have tons of illegals taking money from policemen and firemen.
1
@AlohaChips I have 3 homes in an urban area that have been STRs since 2004, long before airbnb was a thing.
1
@JayZ-to6up Airbnbs make up less than 1% of homes. Airbnb was started in 2008 and housing only became unaffordable after Covid. You are a little slow.
1
@AArata63 If only "overly-educated" people like yourself realized that STRs are less than 1% of the housing, thus have very little effect on housing prices. Funny how we didn't have an unaffordable problem before 2020/Covid and STRs had been around for 30 years or more. I've had my VRBOs since 2004, airbnb came about around 2008 but us OGs have been in business long before airbnb came about. Do a little research before sounding so uninformed.
1
Then you probably won't be selling a house. I wish every house was FSBO but it's just not the case.
1
I like airbnbs, so speak for yourself. I'm a respectful renter though.
1
All the crime and corruption in CA you won't have as many visitors anyway, so it will fix itself. I know I'll never go back there... and I think it's the most beautiful place on earth.
1
California, change laws to make it easier to build a house. Housing supply will be solved in one move...
1
@s99614 Democrats don't believe in law enforcement.
1
What city in TN?
1
@JayZ-to6up STRs are a gray area.
1
@rockyroad7345 Not quite.
1
@xyz987123abc Karen is a Karen.
1
EXACTLY. Hotel lobbyists are the main people fighting this.
1
@EvelinHolmes Government pensions should be illegal. Taxpayers shouldn't pay for your retirement. Good on you if it's from a private company.
1
People hate liquor stores, churches, schools, etc in their neighborhoods. USA is a free country. Move to Chyna and you'll fit right in.
1
Where is "here"?
1
@sambomambojambotango3961 They've already raised taxes sky high. 10 years ago there was no tax on airbnb.
1
Don't count on it. About 1% of homes are airbnb.
