16:32; i am totally uneducated on handling snakes… so I am very curious why he picked it up by the tale? Freaked me out man!😅 I always think of the pinch them by the head method

we called ‘em “banana spiders” where I come from in SE Texas. On account of our local subspecies having a long, more yellower than black thorax or abdomen or whatever it is. Yah so we called ‘em banana spiders. I was petrified of them because I had thought they were venomous. But then I found out they bite but not venomous. But running into their webs if I am not paying attention still freaks me out haha.

seen plenty of cottonmouths over the years from afar. But once hiking through a forest not watching my step I finally experienced firsthand THE cottonmouth😅. Almost stepped on it! But instead of striking first, it did the cottonmouth thing, which gave me an extra split second to jump away before it struck. Like, woah! Really freaked me out, dude! And I am noooooo herper. But I do like jaunts through the woods on occasion. It was local woods next to my apartment so it wasn’t even camping. No trail, just wandering around a forest behind my apartment fantasizing about being a survival expert like Bear Grylls😂

we gotta get you some snake boots brutha. 😅 haha jk but for me a Texan, wearin’ snake boots or steel toes is a great excuse to wear boots and feel like a cowboy even though I’m a regular city boy. So I wear steel toes on my off days too!😅 And save my good “cowboy boots” for “nice occasions” and also actually nice occasions. Pretty standard even in downtown Dallas or downtown Houston you see it a lot. Texas!

my dad was saying the other day that they can only puncture the “web” in between your fingers and I did not correct him but i was thinking to myself, nah that ain’t right? surely that can’t be right?! as if they are somehow “less” dangerous if they have weak jaws? I’m nah nah I’ll just definitely continue observing from afar if I see one. But once, I did pick up a copperhead with the pinch head method
