  1. agree with everything you said except it doesn’t have to absolutely be a phd. Licensed psych therapists, credentialed, legitimate, licensed psychological counselors of types are required to have PhDs. A psychology PhD does not even mean that person will make a good clinical counselor. It can, but not always. Neither one of my licensed therapists were PhDs but were licensed and properly credentialed and loved their career of helping and counseling people like me with mental troubles. Anyways, they helped me a lot, and also glad you broke the cycle!
