  1. there is another sliver of land similar to this in Washington State near Vancouver that i visited as a boy. it is, like, a small peninsular or some such in the vicinity of Seattle/Vancouver. and as a boy, it was very hard for me to understand why the U.S. gave up a huge chunk of Vancouver Island in exchange for this small slip of land. dah well...not that i care...and to be clear, i am still not educated on the history years later. but a fascinating historical dealio nonetheless
