  4. maybe. but unfortunately, hospitals are still acting like everyone is dieing of corona. One visitor only. Visitor must be direct family. Therefore the hospital visitation policies are still being overly strict on that. To be clear I do not disagree with you, but to be fair, that is how the hospitals are still acting.

  5. no they did not downplay it. They definitely warned everyone and said it was going to restrengthen to a cat 1. They definitely warned everyone to prepare, while simultaneously also rightfully saying and correctly saying that this is NOT as bad as Ike or Harvey or Katrina, because, it’s NOT as bad as those were. Plain and simple. So, they said everything they needed to say to warn people. It’s on your own responsibility after that.

  6. oh, duh, shoulda known why they shut down some of the roads. lol. typical idiots driving and not heeding the hazardous road conditions. Me, I just went 30mph or less the whole way and stayed on the feeders at all times. Simple. lol, but alas not so simple for some!😅 Well anyways, I’ve been stranded in ice storms on major highways in the past so it’s not like I didn’t learn my own self from my own stupidity at one point in the year 2009 on I-20 east of Abilene.

  10. my work thankfully canceled our shift and i work for a friggin grocery corporation that has to resupply everybody. So tell your boss politely, that it is wrongful termination if you are fired for a natural disaster situation. That’s legally enforceable against them. Or find a better company to work for, like mine! HEB😅 See they have to supply all the groceries. And even then they canceled our warehouse shift, thankfully.

You don’t just drive into an empty field with ONE pipeline valve and somehow, accidentally, happen to woopsie woopsie hit the one pipeline valve in the middle of the open field. You have see the pipeline valve, turn your steering wheel, and then drive across the field and hit the pipeline valve. That’s on purpose. That’s intent.

  16. i’m not a pilot but all the comments in this whole comment section obfuscating ultimate and final responsibility from the pilot are breathtaking and also hilarious but i won’t laugh because it’s too soon. People really are trying to defend the pilot from the pilot’s own error in these comments. Incredible. And that is not actually to say that the company’s lighting it or the FAA aren’t in on responsibility too. Nevertheless as others have pretty indisputably pointed out, those towers are in all sorts of air navigation charts so even if the lights were out the pilot would be able know that the tower was still there and avoid death.

  19. they are not investigating. it is a “sweep”. A sweep is when law enforcement goes out and gets all the people who already have arrest warrants out on them. Because local law enforcement has not been arresting them. Or the corrupt judges have been letting them go.

  21. darn right ERCOT dang well better get it right after they blatantly refused to prepare in February 2021 despite having OVER a week’s forecast notice to prepare. They literally chose to not allow generation plants to have full capacity in 2021 DESPITE knowing a major winter blast had already affected Oklahoma, Kansas, and the rest of the midwest. Let us remember their failure so that we may remember to hold the public officials accountable who are OUR employees. Voted by us. K not by all, but by many.

  27. they are being held accountable however, investigations, lawsuits, trials, et cetera take a long time, unfortunately, to work their way through the court system. also, this is a dangerous job, everyone knows that it is dangerous and that there is a level of risk. They are not going to completely dismantle a refinery or kick PEMEX out of the USA because of one absolutely terrible and yes avoidable and yes tragic safety incident resulting in loss of life. I am not telling you to like it or change your mind. But I am telling you that’s how it is right now and neither you nor I is going to change it.
