  1. absolutely. except for the arctic gyrfalcon which can fly 80mph in level flight. however, i highly doubt that arctic gyrfalcons prey on pigeons regularly. Also watching a peregrin stoop on pigeon or any bird is amazing! an explosion of feathers! just think of it: a stooping peregrine at 200mph against a level flying pigeon! the math the triangulation! the aim!! simply amazing!
