  1. 4:33; yes he is right but another side of the story is that in the 90s people, even geologists, thought that Midland, TX was dieing. Oil was still pumping but it was less and less. Until the horizontal drillers and engineers figured out how to do all that, which revitalized Midland into a new oil boom in the 2010s. Followed by another crash in 2015. And now, it’s booming again. Fascinating economical cycles happening over and over again.

  2. i lived in Midland, TX a while ago and read a lot on the oil biz. I worked at a bank not for an oil company. But I did read that, Poland has a lot of very promising shale formations, geologically. But nobody has drilled it yet.

  3. yep. i lived their during the last boom until it crashed in 2015. Now it’s booming again. Happens in about 10 to 15 year cycles, sorta kinda. Very impressive!

  4. they did lots of wind power in Denmark and it’s proving counter intuitive to the green goal. It’s doing the opposite of green.
