well, they have and do accomplish their well thought out three-steps-ahead geopolitical ambitions with strikes of mass murder. so, yes, they do actually want to murder masses of people all at once.... of course it is used as a tool to accomplish their fear-mongering. so maybe mass murder in and of itself is not the goal, but it has been used as a primary modus operandi by them and will continue to be used as such. the phrase "terrorist" would disappear if these groups sought achievement of their geopolitical ambitions purely and solely through trade maneuverings and diplomacy. but, you see, they do not do this. they murder masses of people instead. although i would agree the word is overused by the media to a certain degree.
