osp80 National daycare, healthcare, nationalization of some private property... It's not just words, it's actions as well. Big government by definition is socialism. Big government breeds dictators.

osp80 We're a mixed economy. To pretend we're purely capitalist is to be intellectually dishonest. The more involved a government is in an economy, the less capitalist that country is. Nazi was a big government that had a lot of control in the economy. They had a lot of socialist programs, so it's dishonest to call them a capitalist economy with all that big government involvement.

r9000333m What nonsense to believe a psychopath like Stalin is egalitarian. It wasn't about their ideological differences, it was their lust for more control. Both sides cared for nothing but more territorial expansion. Soviet was almost in the Axis, but Germany didn't agree with the conditions (Stalin wanted Bulgaria, and some influence in the Middle East). At that point, Hitler said Stalin was a "cold-blooded blackmailer," and that USSR must "be brought to her knees as soon as possible." He then broke the agreement by invading USSR. It wasn't about ideology, it was about power and geopolitics.
