I had hoped that we were created for a reason; that we have purpose beyond waking up at 6:00 AM for work, but alas, there's nothing beyond that. Then I saw how famous people die and become forgotten. I said, "Whether we're big/small, it makes no difference that when we die, it's as if we never existed. Our life, knowledge, skills, relationships, and memory, all would have amounted to nothing in the end." When you die, you cease to exist, and everything you gained in life is rendered obsolete. That's not purpose, that's lack of it.
