@arandomchannel4413 I am still laughing, therefore the 50 years has not yet started.

@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler Why would we not want an orbital AESA radar system, as long as it does not interfere with telecommunications?
9
No, it won't. It's just a network of communications relays.

@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler If I were damage control, why would I not completely deny all radar capability?

@markhonea2461 I know a family member who witnessed the coining of the term "Mob" on EverQuest back in 1999. Edit: Will post the full story because this reply got at least 1 like: Apparently there was a player who was running back to a group of other players with a train of monsters following them, and posted in chat that they were being chased by a mob. By the time they reached the group, however, only one monster was still chasing them. This caused at least one other player to assume that "mob" was another word for "monster," and it spread from there.

There is an ISP worse than Comcast. It's called (insert rural telecommunications company here) and has a complete monopoly. I pay $90 per month to get 0.00-0.50 mb/s from infrastructure that hasn't been updated since 2003.

@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler The AESA radar option would be very limited, probably only useful for detection of RF sources and large objects such as airliners or ICBMs. It would be more useful to just have a camera on each satellite.

Agreed. I have no hope of streaming games on my 0.0-0.25mb/s 300-9600ms connection.

@petert3355 Only once all of the technology is ready.

@Industry Studies When have chips not been solid state?

@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler While you certainly could do that with a dedicated radar, you would not get such performance from a communications transceiver. Also, please remember that only cropdusters have dedicated chemtrail sprayers. For high-altitude chemtrails, they put the chemicals in the fuel. Unfortunately, I am not sure what "picture" you are referring to, or what chemtrails have to do with radar. Chemtrails exist, for the most part, to reflect sunlight and prevent global warming.

Assuming the network is maintained indefinitely, your statement is true.

@flexwinggpipi These satellites are actively controlled.

When a satellite dies, the other satellites avoid it until it's orbit decays.

Not all of the energy would come from the power grid, as the elevator would be pushing sideways on the cable the entire time it is moving, essentially getting (or losing) some energy from the planet's rotation. This also brings up the concern about the orbital velocity of the station at the end of the cable.
