@donaldcarr8766 Yep. I've had a total of (for example) $6.34 at the register and given them $11.34 (all I had was a $10 bill and a $1 bill...no $5 bill) to make it easy for them to simply give me a $5 bill even for change. It confused the shit out of them: "The total was only $6.34. You're giving me $1.34 too much....". God forbid the computers fail and they need to figure what 7% or so of a number is (for tax)....even when a calculator is literally next to them. They still can't figure it out and won't even try because they don't have any idea how to. I've actually seen this.

Here's my question about the end of cursive: Aren't a lot of founding/historically important documents (in English-speaking countries at least) written in cursive? When these children become adults, they won't be able to read them for themselves. They'll have to rely on someone to interpret the documents for them. Reminds me of when it was illegal to print Bibles in any language besides Latin so that the layman couldn't read it and had to rely on the Church to interpret it for them.....however the Church saw fit, of course.

@anitamaguire7640 You should ask a very high fee because you can translate ancient, dead languages.

@anitamaguire7640 That's a very interesting point about the "pre-ball point pen" era(s) as well. I never thought of that but I have done some novice calligraphy and made my own pens. Makes perfect sense! 👍

@julybutterfly Thank you! I, for one, think this is a pretty serious, scary and dangerous matter. Imagine unqualified Supreme Court Justices of the future having to ask someone what "such and such" legal documents say because they can't read it....and these are the highly educated in law. The general population would know even less. Everyone would just have to basically hope that the translator(s) is/are telling the truth. Ever seen Idiocracy?

@anitamaguire7640 Just curious: do they even know how to properly type (did school teach them this at least) or are they poking keys one at a time like a bird?

Michael Tappin I was JUST about to comment this! Africans invented binary code and computers! Except they kept it secret for 12,000 years! Here's 100%, absolute, irrefutable PROOF!: https://youtu.be/TSj4ZInqI98 This code was probably used in the computers used to pilot the Great Pyramids through the expanse we know as the Milky Way Galaxy!

Michael Tappin Yes. These are some very good questions and points, as I was being sarcastic (if flying the Great Pyramids through the galaxy didn't give it away). It's interesting, yes, but it's highly improbable that they invented COMPUTER CODE for the reasons you have mentioned. It's similar to saying that birds invented the English language (or any modern day language) because they first had the ability to vocalize sounds of the English language (or any modern day language) long before humans existed. It's a fact that birds can do this but there's no correlation between birds being able to vocalize linguistic sounds and birds inventing human languages. Well....maybe BLACKBIRDS invented human language....

Michael Tappin Long story short, I thought you may find the video as hilarious as I did.

I would LOVE to see that! Do you have a link? Please say yes!
