  4.  Paul Phillips  I'm not missing the point. I DO understand perfectly well what "Germanic languages" mean. We however are NOT speaking GERMAN, we are speaking English. What you're saying is similar to saying to a dog owner that in fact, they have a pet whale because dogs and whales are both mammals so it's the same thing. It's a ridiculously stupid "argument".
