  1. That's EXACTLY my point in defending the Second Amendment and the opinion that yes, we do indeed need "machine guns" as citizens.

  2. We DO need "machine guns" (by which I assume means semi-automatic assault weapons. Fully automatic assault rifles are only legal if you have a Federal Firearms License and they are expensive and very hard to obtain). We NEED them because of the reason the Second Amendment is in place to begin with: to have the option to stop your government from becoming a tyranny should thru take that route. If all we have is snap pops and cap guns, we wouldn't pose much of a threat. And while the government isn't becoming a tyranny NOW, depending on who you ask I guess, the minute you do away with the ability to stop them, you open the door to allow it.
