I witnessed a slave-making ant colony raiding a host colony once in Western North Carolina. It was quite an awesome sight to behold!

You aren't the only one.

I forget who said this (some quantum physicist..not a know it all who watched YouTube once) and it applies to quantum physics but the sane could be said for string theory: "If you think you understand quantum physics then you don't understand quantum physics."
7
@kevinyaucheekin1319 Good thing everyone doesn't think like you or we wouldn't have ever accomplished anything. I wonder how much money was "wasted" on the space programs that eventually put the satellites in orbit that you rely on to make your genius comments?
6
I love how everyone on YouTube has all the answers to the mysteries of the universe that even people trained in quantum physics don't understand. Crack TheBack is asking a pretty good question and gets a bunch of condescending fucking remarks like "That's obvious! Blah blah blah!" "That can't be because blah blah blah!" "Well actually to give you an answer blah blah blah!" "I know everything! Blah blah blah!" I mean god damn. The people that came up with string theory and quantum physics don't even totally understand them. What makes you so smart that you have all the answers? I for one think he's got a good question...without me myself having an answer because I don't know everything (especially not quantum theory and string theory because I saw a couple documentaries and YouTube videos)...and neither do you.

Exactly. They asked in the video if nukes made me feel safe..... Yes. They do.

@truth135 That isn't necessarily true. If you come from an old-school agricultural family, more hands are needed to tend the fields in order to make more money. Hence: more children=better wages. I know this because this is the type of life my father grew up in (fortunately for him he left that way, got an education and did well for himself), and we are from America (I'm betting you are as well...could be wrong). You'd have to be an idiot to not want to do better for yourself. Things aren't always so black and white. What's good for you (or good for the planet) isn't necessarily good for the individual. And when YOU are the one that's hungry and more children will help you to not be hungry, it's not as easy to do as you say. Let me be clear: I am not defending this particular individual's family as I have no idea what position they are in. I'm just saying, it seems quite judgemental of you to make such harsh judgements without knowing one single thing about their life situation.

@Higgs Bonbon YESSSS..even though I don't prefer dark solid chocolate, the dark chocolate syrup for chocolate milk is WAAYY better for sure!
4
That's easier said than done.
4
That's a good point.
3
@Yal_Rathol Yes...you are correct. Thanks! 😎
3
Which would raise the point that the Dyson Sphere could be used to solve the energy problem on Mars without having to ship radioactive material there.
3
@cliftonjames785 You know...you COULD help to educate someone who maybe didn't totally understand everything in the video because they aren't as good in science as you are without putting "SMH" and other acronyms like that which makes you come across as a condescending dick. Just saying I see that a lot.
3
While that is true, I'm pretty sure if a species had the technology to actually "drive" an entire star around, "driving" or keeping the planetary bodies in(to) their correct orbit in relation to the sun wouldn't be that big of a deal.

I hear you. I just turned 40, never been married and never had kids (although there's a good side to that I guess) which probably means I never will. I pretty much totally gave up and haven't even dated anyone in 10 years now and it's not like I'm overweight or even a little bit out of shape...Idk what it is. Just me I guess. To make matters worse I completely threw myself into my work 7 days a week....which I work for myself and I do construction, so not a lot of people at my job. I have this absolute certainty that when my time comes to die (if I live long enough) it'll be at the hands of some incompetent moron working in a 3rd rate hospice center who will probably forget/refuse to feed/water me and I'll slowly starve to death because nobody will be around to speak up for me if I can't do so on my own. It's pretty fucking scary that that's seriously the most likely scenario for me the way things are going. And I don't think it's that everyone else is lonely and so they don't know how to act or whatever because I don't see many people in my position.
3
@JM-fh1tv That's exactly what I was going to explain: the circumference maybe bigger than the sun but it's a thin "disk", not a solid sphere. Therefore it's WAAAYYYYYY less massive than the sun. It's like comparing a sheet of paper to a game die. The surface area of the sheet of paper is many times more than that of the die but the die is many times more massive than the paper, even if the die were not made of plastic but of a cube of compressed wood pulp...paper.

The food wasn't already flying around and conscious in real life chronological order. In the video this was SHOWN first but then he backtracks(?) to 2:42 :"On the smaller scales of life, you don't need to be aware to find food." Food being either other unaware eukaryotes, prokatyotes or non-living substances.
3
You don't have PTSD unless YOU actually went through something highly distressing. You have not. PTSD doesn't carry over generations, otherwise EVERYBODY wood be having PTSD right now seeing as how EVERYONE'S ancestors have been enslaved in history. Please stop exaggerating terms like this. I'm sick of everyone having some form of mental issue for which we should all feel bad for.
3
Is that fairly accurate? That's a very good analogy if so!
3
@PeterIsTheBest78 Yeah, that's why the old black congresswoman from my area who also pointed the finger elsewhere was recently imprisoned for stealing money from college funds of her own race and was so guilty that quite literally, the HOLY SPIRIT was invoked as an only defense witness...
3
@dersimdersim9983 That's where school teaches you more.
2
Rainbow Eye Guy I was being highly sarcastic (hence the /S at the end). I was saying that these other people saying that are the actual idiots.
2
@Matthew Morycinski I don't care what your opinion is. That doesn't change facts of the world.
2
@Swenthorian Point taken. 👍 I would like to read an in depth study on HOW the average IQ has risen (I have read this as well). What I mean is, I have also read from a few sources that only 66% of millennials believe that the Earth is a globe. If this is true, it's difficult to see how over all IQ has done anything other than drop....but the AVERAGE IQ could have risen due to the more intelligent people becoming a little more intelligent while the average person is becoming coddled and losing intelligence. This is however (lol)...speculation...on my part. 😎 More research needed for myself.
2
@ninjaOboy And yes, in the meantime, making food more efficiently is a pretty good start. Why not? What's the problem there?
2
How exactly is that circular reasoning? How exactly is it even reasoning of any kind? It's a definition.
2
@aperson6505 Ok. All I'm saying is in reference to the original comment. If a Dyson Sphere is indeed easier to build than terraforming Mars (which I don't know for a fact, again, I'm simply responding to the original comment) then we could use this Dyson Sphere to eliminate the need to ship radioactive material from Earth to Mars.
2
@SorinNicu I get your point but I think we're talking about the long term effects on the entire planet here...will the planet be capable of sustaining life at all in a few centuries?...not how many people it's killed to date.
2
@zenmkultra you might want to do a little more research. American Whites are not colonizers. Recent archeologic digs have unearthed a body in Alaska (North America). DNA results have proven this body to be of European descent. It has been carbon dated to 11,500 years ago. Seems Europeans have been in America a LOT longer than I'm sure you think they were. Assuming you live in America, this would actually make YOU more of a colonizer than me, seeing as how YOUR people have only been here for 400 years, NOT 11,500, AND you have an open invitation (from Ghana) to move back home. Plus, sitting around doing nothing to give natives their land back is just as bad as colonizing a place because SILENCE IS VIOLENCE.. Remember, COLONIZER?
2
@bobdobsin6216 It is ridiculous if you're trying to store it away from humans for tens of thousands of years. People are curious and when they (archaeologists) find some underground storage thousands of years from now, they're going to want to know what's in there, just as we do today (pyramids for example). How do you write a [warning] message than can still be read thousands of years from now?
2
@Shuizid And yet again: "assumed a random 10,000 years...". I didn't assume anything. I said TENS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS, which could reach into the millions. Second, even if I did assume 10,000 years, the half-lives of elements isn't the point I'm making. The point I'm making is how quickly languages change to the point of being unreadable, which is far less than 10,000 years. To repeat: learn to comprehend the English language properly before condescendingly commenting and making yourself look like a narcissistic douche bag. If you were ACTUALLY trying to help educate someone in a field in which you SUPPOSEDLY are highly educated and an expert in, you could find a way to say it less douchey. That being said, the entire purpose of your comment was to do your best to belittle someone. You did a terrible job and made yourself look stupid. Nice job! Have a good day douche! 😘😘
2
@bobdobsin6216 Different symbols mean different things to different cultures and at different times. If it's a problem that's been solved then scientists wouldn't be working on solving it.
2
Anti-vaxers....the only people even more stupid than a flat Earther.
2
This video is racist! At 1:25 it only shows humans dealing with ice and snow! Only those who left Africa would've had to deal with this! This is a White supremacist channel! ✊🏿
2
@atomic.universe We've only seen a video about going to Mars. We haven't actually colonized it. We've only done smaller steps like send a probe/rover. Similarly we have lots of suggestions about how to totally stop pollution. We haven't actually stopped it though because as we both agree about both pollution and Mars, they are easier said than done. As with small steps being taken towards colonizing Mars, so too have small steps been already taken to reduce pollution.
2
Thot Hater "Atheists are so fucking stupid and annoying." That's a nice, well thought out, intelligent comment. I mean...you know...as compared to the "fucking stupid and annoying" atheists.
1
Nayan Yergude That's a really good analogy. We ought to just condemn religious people on trial in justice systems with their same argument: "You can't SHOW us you didn't do it! PROVE IT! SHOW ME! Oh..You can't actually SHOW me?! All you have is MOUNTAINS of evidence you didn't do it?! GUILTY!"
1
Doug Mckinney We haven't found one yet?! Where the fuck have you been?
1
Doug Mckinney There's LOTS of transitional animals LIVING. Don't even NEED transitional fossils even if there weren't any.
1
Elijah Rainer Yes. Please show this evidence. I'll look all day long and study it and honestly believe it if you can produce some. The key word here is EVIDENCE. Not quotes taken from some old scripture. REAL evidence.
1
@Chinese Gods chosen people Jesus Christ is Shang Di I think you missed his point. God damn and you think evolutionists are the "fucking stupid" ones.
1
@Chinese Gods chosen people Jesus Christ is Shang Di I'd also like to point out (and I don't really give a shit what your OPINION is): There no such thing as an "evolutionist" any more that there are any "germists" (one who "believes" that germs exist) or a "fissionist" (one who "believes" nuclear fission exists). Whether you can see it right this second with your own eyes or not is irrelevant. It's a FACT backed up by loads of evidence and until such time comes that there's REAL evidence that disproves it (which is HIGHLY unlikely) it will remain a fact. And if you think it's just a "theory" then I suggest you look up what the scientific definition of a theory can actually mean.
1
Maybe you would've preferred being dominated by the Japanese or Germans Nazis? I think you're forgetting that that wasn't just a normal war. It was a WORLD war and the people nuked were hell bent on GLOBAL domination. If the U.S. simply decided to nuke people because of being afraid of losing then why wasn't Vietnam or North Korea nuked?
1
C T Yeah...I don't think any civilization that can travel the galaxy needs to do any bartering for human specimens. They can just take what they want. I mean if they wanted you and decided to take you what are you or anyone else going to do about it?
1
Yeah...nobody is reading that. Judging by the beginning however it appears clear you are being sarcastic. All I have to say is: use your brain and don't be a fucking moron. There are other options to fire-proof your home such as advancements in electronic materials and safety which help eliminate the need for asbestos. There isn't any other option for vaccines other than not doing it. Your argument is invalid.
1
Rainbow Eye Guy Yeah idiot! Only an absolute idiot wouldn't know EVERY SINGLE reference on Earth and also an idiot would think that stupid comments are said in all seriousness on the internet every second of every day! You should have watched EVERYTHING so anytime ANY reference made, you'll get it! Why didn't you know that reference idiot?! /S (These people sound like a bunch of know-it-all children)
1
"What are you?" A white cik transgender male drag queen trapped in a lesbian's body that likes black hermaphrodites with breast implants. Yes....this is what is "normal" in America now and if you don't agree that that's normal then you're a predjudiced, hate mongering jackass who shouldn't have any opinion on how this country is run. (Idk how I went off on this tangent by watching this video..lol)
1
I hope this ant series continues! I like it! 😎
1
Something tells me you are not an astrophysicist....I guess it's possible but I don't think so.
1
@yuno5523 Hey...no...it's possible. Just you know...there are a LOT of people out there claiming things they aren't but I'm assuming astrophysicists use YouTube also. That's pretty fucking cool if you are! 😎
