  1. Yeah of course that was part of the roadmap since the beginning. If Twitch users all paid for Turbo, Turbo would need to show ads too !😉 Don't ever buy something you can have for free. That's my motto. It ain't about moral, it might be shitty but it's the only way not to be get played. And it's not like torrenting hasn't gotten convenient over the years. We can self-host our own streaming service at home with automatic downloads as soon as they releases, automatic file renaming, automatic folder management and then automatic metadata parsing to look good in like 10s of open source frontends on all of our devices. All with just one docker container pull command on some 30 bucks micro-computer... It's by far more convenient than having subscriptions to a bunch of services, switching between apps, have to use their proprietary clients, etc.

  2. It's concerning because we all used to think tech literacy will come as new generations will be immersed into tech but the truth is each new generation is getting more and more tech illiterate. They don't know shit about networking, they have no concept of how computers work, they can't even use software properly because they refuse to read documentations (how many people on campuses do you see wasting hours on Words because they don't know of built-in shortcuts and functions?). I think the worst disappointment I ever felt was witnessing my nephew tries to connect to the Wifi on my old gig that didn't have a wireless network card and scratching his head like a troglodyte trying to make fire... Even my 60 years old mom knows her way around tech better than today's teens!
