@BestFriendsWhoLiveTogether How does a 4 years old consent to being touched ? I find tickling very inappropriate, it's rarely an innocent gesture; I can hardly find any justification to tickling which couldn't be substituted by other actions which don't require body contact (like playful jokes, "picked your noise", etc.). I would feel easier if a teacher was holding a child's hand or hugging a child in distress than tickling a child's body to "lighten up the mood".

@BestFriendsWhoLiveTogether Come on man you know exactly what I mean. It might be an innocent gesture in your mind but it's really not, it blurs the lines between vulnerability, control, etc. the feeling of being violated is real. Even if it's not an intimate area, don't touch people and definitely don't justify it when you get called out. Avoid doing it to students, please. Most parents find it weird. Think about the child as a grown adult, would you tickle your coworkers ? If you were tickling my child I'd report you and since nothing would happen I'd take my child away from that damn school because clearly the staff isn't trustworthy and beat the living shit out of you. Someone in a wheelchair will have a harder time tickling toddlers. Maybe the reason why other parents don't tell you to stop is because they don't have the luxury to move school but I guarantee you most parents feel the same way. Keep your hands out of their children.
