And PC players look at them laughing because they don't need 80% of what the console players call arguments (game catalogs, controllers, system, online services): PC players are native devs.

@androov2797 pretty much, it all boils down to preferences.

@jonahjameson2431 I wouldn't normally enter a console vs PC debate but since you talked about AAA I feel like it's another debate, that's why I won't compare or use the arguments of accessibility, price, experience, diversity in use or comfort. AAA in 2021 is dog shit, built on the same technologies, re-mixed from past titles. You really out here calling Forza, a 20h campaign and $1000s worth of DLCS a good game ? 🤣 Indie is where the gaming industry has been for the last decade and unfortunately indie doesn't exist on console. That's why PC is still better for purely gaming. Now if you're a plug and play Apple Andy it's your fucking problem for being too lazy to try to learn what your world REQUIRED you to have learnt 20 years ago.

@alexander_farkas I aggree, RN is a bad option to pick because your codebase will not be shared between web and mobile projects so the entire selling point is not even a reality. All I'm saying is if you plan on learning a new language, it doesn't make sense not to learn native.

@20PercentRendered It's the same for JVM-based applications or .NET who require the user to install the framework version on its machine to run it. If you're looking for performances then build native. C/++, Rust, etc... should be what you're looking for, not Flutter. If you can't afford native, accept the sacrifices of performances.

@20PercentRendered .NET has the same issue. You need a runtime to run a .NET app for a reason. ^^

@innokentiygrigorevich9795 "Flutter web is just a canvas hosted crap on which animations and transitions turn my 2080s/R7/16Go into a pile of dirt on fire" – Kotlin developer. React Native is the exact opposite by the way, it compiles into native binary, that's why it's called Native and not WebView.

@yes-vy6bn Console lobbies are filled with children and toxic players so the experience isn't enjoyable at all either to be fair. An entry gaming PC will cost you $650, only $150 more than current generation consoles. Games will be cheaper, you won't have to re-buy a console every 5 years and you also won't have to buy a second PC (do you really think people with a console don't have a laptop at home?). It's the cheaper and better platform, it just is more difficult to build and take care of a PC than it is to plug a console into the wall and press the start button. That's why most players sacrifice the saving, the experience, the comfort and everything else for the sake of practicality.
