@GuruGodPlays We're talking about open source repositories, which all have a license set by the maintainers that you LEGALLY have to follow. Nobody cares about OpenAI scraping tweets and reddit comments bro, thoughts don't belong to anyone. It's the IP that people care about.

@GuruGodPlays That's simply not true. Software is intellectual property, it follows copyright laws. The owner of a software can license it however it chooses, whether its source is proprietary closed or openly distributed. A misuse (e.g: use not permitted by the license) is a copyright crime, which can result up to 10 years in prison depending on the state. It's wild that licensing has to be explained to a community of software developers, what a shame... And you might say "OpenAI hasn't trained its models on open source repositories whose license didn't permit it" but how do we know since they refuse to show any proof for it? That's like Disney pirating AfterEffect and when Adobe asks to prove they are paying a subscription they go "nop, uh-uh, I don't think I will". What conclusion would Adobe go to?
