@jessiekatetheking Thats different. You are in a controlled setting in that situation with multiple staff members to help restrain and even chemical restraints... I've been there and done that. I do think this is extremely sad though. I'm not sure if that kid could have killed him with that garden hoe. I can tell the parents called police as a last resort for their out of control son. I'm not sure if social workers would help. When someone on the spectrum is in a fit of rage, it's hard to stop seeing red. I had the same issue as a kid.

I'm 25 but I was extremely mentally ill from age 12-17. I can't even count the number of times I was institutionalized. I blame the internet. I got all these crazy ideas in my head from youtube and MySpace. Luckily my mom had a serious talk with me about how not to act around police officers so that I didn't die. I pushed that limit and got lucky many times.

@jessiekatetheking I 100% agree with you. This kid shouldn't be dead. The cop was a grown man and could have taken that "weapon" from him easily. We do have a big problem on our hands when it comes to policing in this country. I say this as someone with cops as family members. All of them went on to the force with huge egos, no experience in street fights, no street smarts, and the love of power. Alot of them get off on having power and control over people. They think they are high and mighty and know what is best for everyone else. They forget they are to protect and serve, they work for us, not the other way around! They behave like gang members. They have an us against them mentality. I agree that something needs to change when it comes to situations where mentally ill and people with disabilities have episodes and melt downs. We need better protocol for these situations.

@jaybee5466 Thank you. The best thing that ever happend to me was breaking the law for the last time at 15, the state taking custody of me and being sent to a Juvenile correction center for almost a year. In the time that I was there, I received a ton if intense therapy. We got to the root of my trauma, and how it correlated with my rage and why I acted the way that I did.

@MaryHartman-ei9pv I do blame the internet mostly but I also think alot of my problems had to do with hormones. I blame the internet because I discovered Anorexia inspo pages and self harm inso pages, I got the idea to starve and cut myself from other people online. I would have never even thought to do that if I hadn't seen it on the internet. I was diagnosed as Manic Bipolar as well... but as an adult I have discovered my problem all along as been my hormones. With the rise in progesterone in my body, I become extremely depressed, anxious, suicidal, extreme mood swings and basically have manic episodes.

@joewelch4933 Yes he does. A police officers job is to PROTECT and SERVE citizens.

@MaryHartman-ei9pv It's okay. I understand. Nothing wrong with having an opinion and then it changing after an open discussion, that is actually a good thing! I also feel terrible for today's youth. It was bad when I was a kid, and 100× worse now. I believe this is also the reason we have seen a rise in "transgender" children. They wouldn't feel this way if it wasn't for the internet influencing them. Not to mention the consumerism they are influenced. How heart breaking to know little girls asked Santa for retinol and Stanley cups for Christmas and birthdays now. Very sad times we are living in. Have a great day 💜
