@anyascelticcreations No, none of us have had a DNA test, but my 88-year-old father was tested for osteoporosis and told that his bone density was 180% above normal! There must be pockets of high Neanderthal admixture around; the scientists just haven't tested enough people yet. Neanderthals were much the same high as modern man. I'm 6'2''. With me, people mainly comment on my strength when I pick something up, and reaction speed.

If a girl in her formative years what?

If the Earth's gravity were lower it would orbit closer to the Sun and be uninhabitable due to heat; also the air pressure would be lower so large creatures wouldn't get enough oxygen to live.

I find the theory persuasive. Neanderthals were definitely nocturnal [eye socket size] and obligate carnivores and several times stronger than H sapiens [deduced from bone size]. Why wouldn't they eat humans? It's also clear modern humans left Africa but then took 50,000 years to get into Europe - what was stopping them? Answer: your worst nightmare made flesh. And the reason all human fiction depicts "monsters" as: bipedal, hairy, nocturnal and man-eating is because we adapted to fear them. We fear the dark because of them, not because of lions or tigers, which by rights should be our built-in phobia; but the big cats just look fluffy and cuddly to us - clearly they were evolutionarily insignificant: cave men who petted lions went on to have children!

Sadly the elves didn't make it.

Europeans are 3% Neanderthal on average . He could have been a lot more. Or he could have been a mutation. I have a great-grandmother who was enormous and very strong. I never met her but she was a family legend and I have seen photos. I only have 1/8th of her genes but I am bigger and stronger than most humans, as are the rest of my family.

@anyascelticcreations Yes, I think we are healthier than most people. The "Neanderthal" was my dad's mother's mother, so my mom, 84, didn't get the genes and she is far "older" and frailer than my dad at 88, and he has abused his body with lifetime drinking that should be considered alcoholic, but his heart and liver functions are normal. I haven't really checked for wound healing time.

@emptyhand777 Yes, it's to keep the giants out, b*ggers are always trying to drink our ale.

@UltrEgoVegeta What evidence do you have for this? Their bones indicate they were as strong as gorillas; and their diet was all meat. By way of illustration, the Neanderthal pinky finger was bigger than a modern human's thumb - we have the bones to prove this!

Sometimes warriors win, and then they get to mate with all the enemy's women. 😉

@ewanobrien50 This theory would require the Earth to gain mass.

We're all part Neanderthal! On average 3%.

The double row of teeth is characteristic of a theorized species of North American humanoid giant. It's a shame the bones are lost.
1
@petergleeson295 These giants had larger skulls so the doubled teeth may have worked out better for them. There are suggestions of six fingers as well.

@petergleeson295 Interesting. Your experiences indicate that there are some "giant" genes are in our genome.
