Although the polar icecap is floating on the sea and its melting would not cause the sea level to rise, the antarctic and Greenland icecaps are not floating, they are sitting on dry land, so their melting would certainly cause sea level to rise; a rise of more than 50 metres, maybe as much as 100 metres.
