This is what she was actually telling us to do: If a person comes into your office, you need to profile them, by race, by gender, by sexuality, etc. Then once you've shoehorned them into a certain box, and determined their victimhood status, you can assess them for a career. Say I have a Black lesbian come into my office looking for career help. According to this professor, as a career counselor, I'm supposed to ask her how being Black and being a woman and being a lesbian has impacted her work-life detrimentally. And then...get this...if she DOESN'T think her career has been detrimentally impacted by her identity, I need to EDUCATE her on how it has. This is the kind of shit they're actually teaching people to do. Think about me (as a young European male) assuming, and then broaching the subject to a gay Black woman, about how her race has been detrimental to her life. WTF. After the awkwardness wears off (assuming it does), and she says she doesn't think her being Black has impacted her career path detrimentally, I am supposed to EDUCATE her as to how it did?! Can you imagine this in real life??! Far-Leftists in academia are the most racist, delusional people in the world, and they all deserve helicopter rides.
