@elmerfudd6740 It also would have made us responsible for funding green energy projects in totally unstable nations who can't even provide basic necessities to their people. These imbeciles at the UN think a government in Africa or Latin America that can't even function well enough to provide clean water for their people is going to be able to effectively operate and maintain massive solar grids or wind energy plants? Give me a break. Not to mention, countries like those could descend into war, famine, economic disaster, etc. at any time. It's not like they can be trusted to be committed to green energy production if they can't even maintain control over their own population and economy. It was an idiotic proposal from the beginning and doesn't even focus on the countries that actually need to start converting more to green energy, which are industrialized more stable nations that mass pollute seemingly without any concern for environmental impacts. These nations are mostly in South and East Asia, not Africa or Latin America.

@arturotroncoso3484 I agree with most of what you said, but the Saudi alliance makes no sense. The Saudis are the largest financiers of fundamentalist Islam in the world. They have funded the spread of Wahhabism and Salafism throughout the world. They are not our "buddies." They should be considered a mortal enemy, the same as every nation inhabited by any evil desert tribe of psychopaths.

@arturotroncoso3484 The funny thing about your statement is that while it appears to be a long-term strategy, it's actually very myopic. Saracens are our enemies and always will be, and the Arabs are the progenitors of Islam. They would enslave or destroy us if they could. That is truly the big picture. Oil and money is not. I don't believe in "frienemies" and "keeping enemies close." All Western nations should cut ties with the Saudis and let them rot. They will continue trying to conquer us even if we resist them. If we don't for the sake of greed, they will surely succeed in enslaving/destroying us.

@arturotroncoso3484 The power structures in both China and Russia are not incompatible with Islam either. They might play ball with them, but in the long run, they can't get too close to them either. Russia is not as much of a threat as people think and China's economy can be crushed (and the communist regime likely replaced) by using economic nationalism i.e. tariffing the shit out of China while creating free trade agreements with large labor markets like Mexico, Brazil and India. China is a paper tiger and oil is not going to be the resource that dictates world domination long-term. Once oil becomes irrelevant, the Middle East and all the Mohammedan psychopaths there become irrelevant.
