California is becoming a sanctuary state and will pass socialized healthcare (with no way to pay for it) very soon. Add DACA and we'll see illegal immigration to California skyrocket.

Smarky Kryptonite I guess they looked at the Migrant Crisis in Europe and thought...that's what we need! So blatantly obvious...it WAS all about votes, but they already have near unilateral Leftist control in their state. Now they are literally destroying themselves just to virtue signal. Suicidal altruism and pathological stupidity.

DrWaaagh If that happened there would be civil war. 4.5 million people voted for Trump in CA. That's 100K less than Texas. All of the conservatives would want the State of Jefferson if California ceded and was allowed to continue their Leftist suicidal tailspin independently.

pantslizard it is now legally a sanctuary state. I see your point, but for an entire state to legally declare themselves a sanctuary for illegal immigrants...the precedent that sets borders on sedition.

Smarky Kryptonite Absolutely. Reagan is responsible for the most damaging piece of immigration legislation (the Simpson-Mazzoli Act) since the Hart-Cellar Act. There were only 14 million Hispanics here in 1980. There are 50 million here now only 37 years later...that's a 250% increase. Not to mention, only 27 million are citizens. How many of those 27 million would you guess are the children of illegal immigrants? 75 percent? More? Reagan was a globalist neocon. He talked about small government, but the majority of what he did was designed to strengthen the establishment.

TTC State of Jefferson declaration is the only way for CA conservatives. Otherwise, Oregon and Idaho had better be prepared for 5-10 million political refugees.

@Hobgob: Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas.

Alex Californians don't believe in gun ownership or the CA govt. doesn't? Two different things. You can't make generalizations about a state with a population as large as CA's. There are 39 million people there, and not all of them take the same stance of gun control/ownership by any stretch of the imagination.

@ Browns Fan: The Democrat responsible for shooting down Senate Bill 562 only did so because the bill was a huge steaming piece of shit (like most Leftist legislation) and he coined it "woefully incomplete." He then went on to say that talks would resume in the Fall about universal healthcare and drafting a new piece of legislation. “It’s not a question of debating whether we move toward health care for all – it’s a matter of choosing how best and how soon,” Rendon said. “The committee’s work will help fill the void of due diligence that should have been done on SB 562 or any universal health care bill that so profoundly affects so many Californians.” So, this guy is philosophically retarded, but at least has the sense to realize when the far-Left is trying to prematurely push through a criminally inept bill.

@ Mog of War: It won't affect future arrivals? LOL okay. The Simpson-Mazzoli Act certainly increased the rate of illegal immigration. The amnesties granted by Clinton via the LIFE Act and NACARA also caused illegal border crossings to inflate. Even since news was released that Trump was trying to make a deal with Congress on the Dream Act, the rate of illegal border crossings has increased fivefold. Our legislation and politics DRASTICALLY "affect future arrivals." It is called setting a legal precedent. Just look at what is happening in Europe with the Migrant Crisis. That didn't just happen as a result of wars. It happened because it was subsidized by the European political system and word got out. Human traffickers started doing their thing, and everyone all of the sudden became a "refugee," whether they were from a war-torn country or not, it didn't matter. They will all take advantage of the Europeans being woefully lenient and suicidally altruistic as long as they can get away with it. There have been wars in the Middle East that were worse than the current/recent ones, and no massive influx of "refugees" invaded Europe. So why now? PRECEDENT. All of these people will come here and take what they can if they are allowed, and they will most certainly come if their illegal intrusion is subsidized and they are given benefits upon arrival.

@ramosel: Yes, I've been advocating for the SOJ throughout this thread.

Event Horizon The propsed SOJ encompasses the majority of Northern California and a small part of Southern Oregon. I don't understand where you're going with the Appalachia reference.

@ Donny Hernandez: Sign the declaration for the State of Jefferson. soj51.org

@Hobgob: I'm not really a White separatist, per say, although that might end up being the most ideal situation for Whites in this country, eventually. I believe in free association between groups, similar to Jared Taylor's view on that matter. I just think that it's very important for the U.S. to maintain a Western identity and a White majority. I have some WN viewpoints, but I can't get fully onboard with most far-Right WNs because I am strongly against authoritarianism and think government should be very limited in their powers i.e. I believe in liberty. It is not impossible to be a nationalist and a libertarian simultaneously. Styx is, and that is why I follow his content.

@ Ano Nony: Part of that is the temperate climate and some is the lenient government. Homeless people can actually panhandle enough to survive in CA because there are enough people that feel sorry for them and give them money. There are also way more homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and government handouts. But all of the social programs in the world wont change the nature of human beings. In fact, socialism nurtures and exacerbates the poor natural tendencies in human beings i.e. laziness, selfishness, entitlement, dependency, degeneracy etc. Go to Vancouver, BC and you will see that an entire quadrant of the downtown area is inhabited by homeless people/drug addicts/criminals. Canada supposedly has superior social programs and a thriving economy, and it appears that they have similar if not worse problems with homelessness.

Euph We haven't had a large enough sample size of NatSoc to make that assumption. It certainly worked well in its beginning stages, but most socialist systems do work initially and then eventually implode.
