You have no problem with illegal immigrants because you don't live amongst them anymore, Styx. You were married to a Mexican and lived in Texas, then you moved (back?) to a 98% White state. I wonder why. (no question mark, rhetorical question)

Build the wall, FFS. An illegal immigrant gets deported 5 times, then comes back and kills an American citizen. Government officials should be held accountable for this type of atrocity.

So you chose not to attend college in one of the glorious culturally enriched border states? Funny that the most Left-wing schools tend to be in some of the Whitest places, (i.e. Brown, UVM, U of O, Portland St., Evergreen, Santa Cruz etc.) far removed from any of the detrimental impacts of the illegal immigration that they so strongly promote.

Styxhexenhammer666 I respect almost all your viewpoints, even if I don't agree with them. But it's hard for me to respect some of your views on immigration. Look at Mexico's immigration policy. It's actually sane and theoretically should protect Mexico from existential cultural and national threats. It's a lot like U.S. policy from 1924-1965. In Mexico, it's a felony to be an illegal immigrant, and they deport more people than the U.S. does, but only we are racist bigots for wanting sane immigration policies and to deport illegal immigrants. How can you support these double standards? I don't care how imbedded these people are in this country, they shouldn't be here. Section 1 of the 14th amendment should be revised. There are 50 million Hispanics here and rising, and only 27 million are citizens. How many of those would you imagine are the children of the other 23 million illegal and legal non-citizens? You talking about "bonafide" relationships the other day made me think of the San Bernardino shooters. How can you support the issuance of K-1 visas from countries like Pakistan? How can you support sanctuary cities, even though most of the illegals are simply "leaving everyone alone" as you say? Do you not see the direct and indirect detrimental impacts they cause and the legal precedent that our continued indifference establishes?

@Samson: Maybe sometimes. It's hard to stay routinely consistent. I still thoroughly enjoy his input. He has more sane viewpoints than most people. He's just more ambivalent and liberal than me about immigration, which is not difficult to achieve. I'm zero tolerance. I will say that his and many other's indifference towards these difficult issues are contributing to the problem. Mass immigration and weak enforcement is allowing for the subversion of our country's cultural and ethnic hegemony, and Styx doesn't seem to give a shit.

@ gmanvicman: that's hilarious. I think he's an Area 51 grey alien hybrid escapee. Tarl Warwick seems like an appropriate name for such a creature.

I really hope that eventually the states politically polarize (even more than they already are) and force the federal government to completely decentralize. I imagine a country that is similar to the original confederation, where states can enforce their own immigration and deportation policies, and you need to apply to receive individual state citizenship even if you are an American citizen. This would make it so illegals only went to Leftist-run states and conservative states were like no-go zones for them. Then only the Leftists would be the ones that reaped what they sow.

9hundred Live: Nationalism is much more complex and multifaceted than any religious ideology. It fosters identity in culture, language, race, political goals and belief in a common ancestry. Religion can also be added to this list, but cultish religions transcend nationality and inspire people to put faith before blood and country.

@ sergio gracia: Hopefully they'll all go home when the job market dries up, but I doubt it. They'll probably just stay here and go on welfare.
