This is not common sense. If you went by Tarl's logic, all the monarchies of old would be considered leftist. That is utterly ridiculous.

@Omniscient_ Turnip In 1400s England the King had a massive amount of complete over his subjects. They didn't need sophisticated surveillance. Just a loose network of loyal subjects. The common man in the 1400s was a serf who was essentially the slave of a feudal nobleman. I'm not sure if you're just unaware of historical reality or you're making the argument you did out of desperation to try to protect Tarl's idiotic narrative.

Styx never expressly stated he was speaking in a modern context. And even if he is, that doesn't mean that absolute monarchy doesn't exist in the modern age. Does he really think Saudi Arabia is leftist or the House of Saud doesn't hold absolute power within their kingdom? 600 years? Try right now in the Middle East and a little over a century ago in Europe with the Russian Czardom.
