@HiroshimaXl That definition is chicanery. Pay equity is equal pay regardless of input or output. The people making 17 an hour are actually getting paid the value of their labor. Your union elevates your wages past the value of your labor because they hold a monopoly on the labor pool. That is all good and well for you, but that is not pay equity, by your definition or mine.

Marxists are constantly trying to obfuscate and manipulate the definitions of things to suit their narrative and agenda. Pay equity means equal pay. It doesn't mean "fair" which is a completely subjective moral thing and also suggests that equal pay is fair no matter what the input or output. I use Forsyth's distributive norms. @HiroshimaXl What you just described is what occurs in a capitalist system. The market sets the value of various forms of labor and contribution. Manipulating that and dictating what is "fair" is idiotic and subjective, but irrelevant to this argument about the semantics of equity. Equity only means fairness in certain contexts, and because things being equal is by default generally considered fair. But in economics, equity is equal pay no matter what the input/output, which is the opposite of fair.

"Fairness" isn't quantifiable; it's completely subjective. Equity comes from Latin aequitas which means EQUAL i.e. identical or uniform. So wtf does equity mean when applied to income? @valthomas9786 My evidence is that there is government/legally sanctioned racial discrimination against white people in both academia and employment in this country. If we are to assume that academic and economic opportunity leads to prosperity and wealth, how can poor Blacks not have an easier road to the middle class than similarly impoverished Whites? Because Blacks still have lesser outcomes, despite these legal advantages? BS. Because of some shadowy "system of advantage" that whites enjoy that can't even be quantified or proven? BS. As I said, you can't have an honest discussion about group outcomes without talking about group differences in behavior, culture, etc. Differences in outcomes are not the exclusive result of discrimination. Besides the obvious phenotypic differences, there are many average differences between different ethnic groups: bone density, skull structure, muscle tissue, hormonal levels, socio-behavorial traits, intelligence levels. You can delude yourself with egalitarian lies all you want, but human groups are different, just as humans individuals are different.

I can't believe you're not aware of them. They are called things like "positive" discrimination. They slap a "positive" next to their policy of racial discrimination and voila! It's virtuous. :) Name me one American law that is racist in its intent towards Black people. I'll save you the trouble...one doesn't exist. I don't believe in racial superiority, but I believe in science and genetics. Genetics show us that members of certain human ancestral groups, even at birth, are predisposed to have certain traits as they fully develop. Can you seriously sit here and tell me that an African is not more likely to become physically superior to an Asian? Certain things are just blatantly obvious, but people have been conditioned to deny it through a process of egalitarian ideological brainwashing.

@jonm7888 Economic egalitarianism/income equality/a "distributive justice" framework is the economic endgoal of a communist state. Regardless of their inputs, all group members are given an equal share of the rewards/costs.

@kiddoo906 Discrimination and lack of average opportunity are not the only cause of group outcome disparities. The average choices of individuals within certain groups as also a cause. Blacks are not disabled. There are literally billions of people in the world who would gladly trade places with the average American Black.

All I was saying here is that disparate outcomes are not exclusively the result of discrimination. You can't have an honest conversation about average group outcomes without having a conservation about average group behavior. And it's absolutely not obvious that humans are biologically the same. That is a totally ridiculous statement. Your notions of privilege and oppression are rooted in Marxist theory. They are debunked.

These men are extremely intelligent Blacks who understand that unequal outcomes aren't evidence of discrimination and that specific cultural and behavior tendencies in Blacks are the greatest contributor to lesser outcomes.

And also, nothing I said to you was a trivialization of their historical grievances. It is you who is infantilizing Blacks and assuming they need help based solely on their history and race instead of their individual situations. It is you who is collectivizing their experiences as if they constitute a single entity with a hivemind. At what point will you realize that Black individuals don't need (and many times don't want) you treating them like feeble victims? At what point will you stop blaming every problem that befalls a Black individual on the past? At what point will you realize that racial history is weaponized for ulterior political motives? I'm guessing you'll never come to any sensible conclusions about any of these questions. Pay equity will stifle innovation. Humans thrive off of competition and naturally look to their individual and familial interests over the community. Figures such as mean per capita income must be weighed on the basis of several factors. The mean per capita income of the entire population includes millions of people who don't earn a taxable income: children, elderly and disabled people, stay-at-home parents, and welfare parasites. This makes the figure inaccurate and completely useless, but useful to a Leftist ideologue trying to lie and frame capitalism as inequitable. This country is one of the finest in the world and people from socialist "utopias" wait decades to come here BECAUSE of the opportunity capitalism creates. People who support Marxism (and lie constantly to protect the flaws in their ideology) are a cancer to our nation. You are one of them.
