  1. On the basis of the most likely explanation being the case/Occams Razor etc it’s probably just him trying to get back into the limelight and Hitler good books with a ‘great move’. He knew the Nazis didn’t see the Brits their natural enemies - quite the opposite - and he knew that certain Saxe- Goldberg and Gothas family members were very sympathetic to the Nazi cause. He just needed to broker it and the stars leant a hand with some good omens. The extended D Notice is clearly to protect the Royal family from embarrassment - ‘ cos they’re not remotely embarrassing at the moment. What? Eh? ...... Oh!
