The fact that anyone is involved with Johnson’s ethics is funny/tragic
84
Seems the new norm for political leaders is to make subordinates do all the work (also because they actually have a clue) while you go on your jollies and skive. Dodge unpleasant meetings like The House Of Commons for eg and party. Party party party. At least the Finnish pm puts pictures of her doing it on line.

As a mental health professional I am sceptical of cod diagnosis of personality disorders made by laypersons but I now do genuinely believe that Johnson is a narcissistic personality disorder.
35
Yes, exactly this.

The really scary thing is that Liz Truss actually thinks she’s intelligent. Seriously!! She does.

It’s that headmasters report again, isn’t it. Considering people churlish for not making him important.

Maybe we should just privatise the Police? People could buy different levels of protection and justice. The very wealthy could afford the best justice. The poor would get what they pay for. And another thing, what about all this Air that people are breathing free of charge…..

@SimonPlowman socio path is a mainly an American term - in terms of actual diagnosis - and is equivalent to a psychopath or a antisocial personality disorder which he could be but NPD fits better, I think. Nasty bit of work suits nicely, too.

At some point in one’s life you looked at people less fortunate and you made a decision. These people are either to be feared, avoided and blamed OR they are pitied, engaged with and helped. It’s a kind of spectrum but it’s also got a ‘one or other’ aspect to it. The political decisions made by this choice is - I think - pretty obvious.

Chomsky says that we are only allowed to discuss things that won’t really make a difference. We talk about stuff that we think is important like gender politics and the like but are they as important as Trade Union membership, Gaza or 20 years of economic hardship and a lost generation of our youth.

I think the word ‘temazepam’ says it all with DT.

You mention the younger generation and I think that they are the only hope here.

As an RMN of 37 years I think she has a very ‘difficult’ personality’ dominated by a very intense sense of entitlement. Her ‘entitlement schema’ led to her being extraordinarily paranoid - the dissonance created by her entitled expectations collided reality exploded in a massive burst of paranoia and indignation. She has a most proud external locus of control as well - it’s never her fault!

Wow. Look at me! On the right side of history AGAIN! Well, well.

How very fair of you Andrew. Much more than the other lot would ever do.

@andrewdavy9921 bit of a wide sweep. My experience of primary care mental health suggests that every profession has my issues although (apart from musical theatre students ) we were massively over represented with teachers. I think people in the nhs are generally left wing. Perhaps not socialist. I’m one, obviously. My ward managers a fan of Boris Johnson.
2
The deeply troubling personal issues that made her stronger was presumably when she was caught boning another Tory MP. Trustworthy lot, aren’t they.
2
Clever? Vulpine maybe (apologies to foxes everywhere,)

Land of opportunity. Even a man with special educational needs can become president. (With enough money and BS).

People with that dot of upbringing are always confident. Even when they really ought not to be.

It’s a vile image. It suits him fine.
1
@emmabrooker166 Which is (as long as it’s behaviour demonstrated over a long period of time which it is in his case) pretty much what a NPD is.

Brave lad

Isn’t ‘protesting’ ‘doing’ then?

Stuff like this makes me think ‘Revolutionary War!’

Trump is only the lesser of two evils because he’s thick where as Putin is not.

I hate the fact that she, like me, was a nurse. And I cannot stand this women . Loathsome, vile piece of work.
1
@Sea-la-canth Yeah, agreed. I actually know someone who trained as a nurse with her. She said that Dorres was the ‘only in it to marry a doctor’ type nurse - which sounds about right.

It’s your Dunning-Krueger innit!

The right side of history?

The Elephant in the room for a lot of us is that Emily Maitlis is just incredibly hot. Sorry. Not sorry.
1
@stephenisom6089 eh?
1
We are too timid. I’d agree.
1
Unbelievable. Except, it’s not, sadly. Not my king.

“Tempting to look away!” Very true.

Why do people ring in and try it on with James ‘cos they inevitably get sodomised?

Sunak is a sort of nice but dim character only without the nice bit. He more pit of his depth than Ocean Gate.

I try to stick up for coppers but they just don’t do themselves any favours. I looked after a couple when I worked in IAPTS as a CBT. Nice people, bright, balanced and thoughtful. But they were just having a terrible time with the majority of their colleagues. Now, this is just a couple of my patients but they both said the same thing ie the people I work with - other copper - are very difficult to get on with unless you are singing from the exact same page as them. But then this is just my ‘lived experience’ I guess, just like the caller said.
