  2. I just thought of a good project/next video ! Seaplane related! Or rather flying boat related as it’s about a Short Sund#%*!nd. One of them shot down a load of JU88 over the bay of Biscay. Food dtrting place us the Wikipedia Short Sund#%^*nd page. Just an idea but I reckon you’d do a very decent job (as always).

  36.  @gort8203  People seem so keen to take anything as a personal affront to their patriotism. As I clearly said - I’m quoting from a book I read. However, the possibility that some anti- Anglo sentiment effected somebody somewhere judgement isn’t “ridiculous”. Ask any Martlet pilot in the FAA.

  40. Coastal Command wanted to use them for ASW but were told no chance as they were too few and too valuable. CC ended up using Ansons which were really too short ranged for he job. To carry depth charges the Bombay would need a bigger…………… Bomb bay!! Gettit? I’ll get me coat…

  47.  @mikepette4422  The fact that something good actually came out of the Fairey Battle airframe is remarkable in itself. I think naval radar direction helped massively and the fact the observer could handle that aspect in the early days was another big plus. You get some hateful comments from folks with Top Trump type arguments who’ve not actually read a grown up book about aviation. But you can dismiss the easy enough. They just see stats and not what they actually mean/meant in the real world. I really like Fulmars. They were big and clumsy but strangely effective. Reminds me of myself. :)
