  1. What is currently going on with 'journalism' in the USA is not the norm or representative of the past. Propaganda is not the presentation of a particular point of view, perhaps prejudiced etc...but that is not propaganda. Propaganda must come from the government. It is extremely difficult for propaganda to work unless the press is directly controlled by the government. If this is not the case, you can't really refer to the word propaganda. I was in Berlin for about a month and mostly in the East and was amazed at the paranoia among many people. A lot of distrust everywhere. Also, even the educated folk were very naive about how government worked, always reverting to conspiracy theories, the CIA etc...and a fundamental misunderstanding the US culture and the political process.
